(12) Keeping Secrets Is Not Okay

"Who are you on the phone with?"

I gulp and try not to stare directly at her. "Jared wanted to talk to me about something. Everything is fine baby. I promise." I peck her cheek.

"If something is wrong, you'll tell me right? I don't want secrets between us at all even if it comes between Crystal and Jared. Promise me that you won't hide anything from me." She pouts.

I sigh and curse myself out mentally and fake a smile. "I promise baby." She smiles and pecks my lips before walking out of the room. I put the phone back on my ear.

"Well I guess I'm not the only one who fucked up. Oh and we need to go have a meeting since they know about the girls. Meet in 20?" He asks.

I huff and mumble yeah before hanging up.

~ Kayla POV ~

I knew he was hiding something from me. I already knew what happened between Crystal and Jared. And I saw him outside of the window, but I just played it off.

He even lied to my face. I'm going to confront him when he comes downstairs. I did make us coffee though.

He walks downstairs all dressed and smiles at me; acting like nothing is wrong. I sigh and just fake a smile (which I'm bad at btw). He grabs the coffee and notices my face.

"Baby, what's wrong? What's with the fake smile?" He asks. I sigh and just comes straight forward.

"Why were you on the phone with Jared when he was outside? And why was he holding his shoes?" I ask.

He takes a deep breath and puts his head and the coffee mug down. "Baby....." that got me aggravated. Why is trying to hide things from me. I cut him off and put my now empty mug down on the island.

"Stop calling me baby and tell me what's going on. I deserve to know and so does Crystal."

He looks up at me. "Look Kayla, it's not something I can just blurt out. This stuff is serious and you shouldn't even be involved in it."

I scoff and walk closer to him so we are face to face. "I shouldn't be involved? Well guess what Addison, I am involved and so is Crystal. We both deserve to know what the hell is going on. So stop hiding from us and just say it!"

"FINE YOU WANT ME TO TELL YOU!? JARED SLEPT WITH YOUR NEIGHBOR AND SOME DANGEROUS PEOPLE ARE SEARCHING FOR YOU AND CRYSTAL SO THEY CAN GET TO JARED AND I! THEY WANT US TO GIVE THEM MY GANG TO THEM! SATISFIED!?" He screams at me.

I don't speak at first, but I eventually do. Tears were running down my face. "So while Crystal is in pain and suffering, Jared is sleeping with my neighbor?! And you want to finally tell me that I'm in danger!? Wow Addison just wow. I can't believe you right now."

I turn my back and grip the edge of the island. The tears were flowing down my face and my breathing has quickened up. I feel his hand on my shoulder but I shrug it off.

He sighs and stands next to me. He lifts my head up and makes me look him straight in the eyes. He wipes my tears.

"Baby, I'm sorry ok? I didn't want to worry you or Crystal. If Crystal knew, she would be stressed out and that's not healthy for the baby. Now, I didn't want you to worry because I wanted to be able to handle it. I'm sorry for not telling you sooner, but you have to understand why."
