Sunflower slowly opened her eyes as she shuffled around on the bed, she tossed the blankets to the side with a frustrated sigh.
It couldn't have all been a dream.
She sat up, stretching her arms in the process.
A dream cannot last that long.
Getting up from the bed, she walked towards her drawer. She opened the bottom drawer, grabbing a white shirt.
I wish it was all a dream.
She looked up at the mirror, a frown appearing on her face.
She hadn't realized how terrible she looked.
Otherwise, I wouldn't have left all of them like I did.
I wouldn't be feeling so dreary.
So lonely.
Sunflower narrowed her eyes to the door as a knock was heard.
The door opened, it was revealed to be Skye.
"Hello? Are you awake- Oh, you are." Skye walked into the room, closing the door behind her.
"Are you alright today? It's been two weeks and we're all worried." Skye frowned, saddened.
Sunflower stared at her with an irritated gaze.
"Look, you haven't been out of the mansion in a long time. It was tough on you, I know that, but you need to get some fresh air." Skye explained as she walked towards the other end of the room, she opened the curtains.
Skye turned her back to Sunflower, a sincere look appearing on her face.
"You can't be locked in this room forever. So get ready, we're going to spend some time with each other today." Skye went towards Sunflower, putting her hand on her shoulder.
"I really don't like seeing you like this.." Skye sighed.
Sunflower frowned as she looked at her sister.
"So, get ready."
.
Skye and Sunflower walked down the hallway, Nala was following closely behind.
"Why is she following us? Is that really necessary?" Sunflower mumbled, turning her head to Skye.
"We're under strict orders nowadays. I asked Nala to tag along so we could both watch you, so you don't run off." Skye stated.
"I'm not a wild animal or anything."
"I sometimes worry about your wellbeing, you need to quit that habit of running off." Skye frowned.
"Yeah, I would. It's just stuck to me." Sunflower muttered as she stopped walking, she swiftly turned her head to Nala.
"How old am I?" She asked the maid.
"You were seventeen when Maria sent you away, so you're most likely eighteen at the moment. Since a new year started I believe you're almost nineteen."
"Oh, well alright. Let's settle this the adult way." Sunflower turned her head back to Skye.
"I heard the age of consent for drinking is eighteen. Since you're a year older and your birthday is around january, you must be twenty years old. Let's get a few tabs." Sunflower asked Skye, a smile appearing on her face.
"How vulgar, what happened to your manners?" Skye shot her sister a look of shock.
"Everyone keeps telling me that. I don't need to be scolded about it everyday, I know I became a lazy slob but it was for the better." Sunflower muttered as she stared at the girl.
"I don't mind however Sunflower turns out. I am her maid so I accept anything." Nala says as she clears her throat.
"What has that place done to you?" Skye frowned.
"Well, It taught me a lot. I know the ways of an actual teenaged girl." Sunflower pointed out.
"That isn't what I mean."
"So, should we do it then? I also heard it made you.. Sober? This is based on the knowledge my friends told me. Well, old friends."
"Well, if it's what you want to do.. I suppose a little wouldn't hurt. I've always wanted to know what it tastes like."
"It better be good, if it isn't I am going to stay in my room for a few more days. Nothing to do in this forsaken mansion anyway."
"This is why you should meet people. Ever since you left Pigeon Ocean, you haven't set a foot outside. This isn't healthy." Skye frowned.
"I just need a little more time. I can't go anywhere anyway. The security here is strict, so I can't walk out the front door like I used to." Sunflower let out a long sigh.
"Well, since the three of us are heading out they ought to let us. I'm just not sure where the bar is." Skye mumbled to herself.
"What's a bar?" Sunflower had a curious look on her face as she looked at Skye.
"Shouldn't you know? You're the one who wanted to drink."
"You can't expect me to know everything." Sunflower shot Skye an irritated look.
"Well, I'm sorry.."
"It doesn't matter anymore, let's just go look around or something."
.
"Y'know, I feel very woozy." Sunflower laid her head on the counter, looking at Skye.
"I never expected alcohol to taste so... bitter?" Skye looked down at her drink.
"Your voice.. Y'know, never mind.. Well, I don't know- what am I thinking? Also, your face is red." Sunflower chuckled.
"What?" Skye turned her head, confused.
"I don't know, like I said. I just feel.. Relaxed. I want a parfait, where can we get parfaits?"
"I don't think they sell those here. I for a fact don't even know what that is."
"Well, it's creamy.. And good."
"That is a very detailed description, good job." Skye had sarcasm in her voice.
"Y'know, I always thought.. That Erlen looked pretty handsome for a girl.." Sunflower muttered.
"Oh? That's pretty random."
"Well, yeah. She was always mysterious and always leaning on the wall for no reason.. I feel like I never really understood her like I should have.." Sunflower muttered as she stared at Skye, after a few seconds of staring her eyes watered.
"Eh-." Skye was taken back as she was shocked.
"I should've- I should've made an effort to get to know her better- I'm so pitiful! I was always so curious about her- That chance is gone now, I won't get to know her like I wanted to-." Sunflower began to sob, she shoved her face on the counter.
"No- It's alright, I think? Just try not to think-." Skye was cut off as someone sat beside them, catching Skye's attention.
Skye gave the person a confused look as they ordered a drink, the anonymous person turned their head and smiled.
"I can kinda relate, I had a person in my past life that I wanted to get to know better but I kinda screwed that whole friendship up." The person had a friendly smile on their face.
Skye sat back down, not feeling as suspicious as she was a few seconds ago.
Sunflower felt sickened by the alcohol but she still stayed put, she didn't care about the person sitting beside her. She found the person quite familiar, the voice intrigued her to look at the person but she was apparently not in the mental state to lift her head up.
She decided to close her eyes, feeling sorry for herself.
"I'm not sure if you remember me but it turns out I'm staying in Rocky Lagoon for a little while."
She recognized the voice, she wanted to look up, but she was lazy.
"Oh? Really?"
"Yeah, I've decided to stay since I've met a few people here that wanted to start a band."
"Whatever a band is it must be nice."
Sunflower felt herself becoming woozy as Skye and the unknown person talked to each other, she could hear their faint voices becoming more quiet as the seconds drew by.
She was about to lift her head up before she passed out on the spot.
"I really find that interesting that you play guitar." Skye smiled, using a toothpick to stir the alcohol in an odd circular pattern.
"Eh, ever since I graduated from school I've just been going around the place playing it, I don't really have anything to do nowadays."
"Yeah, I know how that feels." Skye let out a sigh, placing the toothpick beside the glass cup.
"This girl has been isolating herself in her room for two whole weeks, I keep telling her to come out and be productive but she can't seem to let go of the past."
"Oh, really?"
"She left a few people back at Pigeon Ocean, she's been making herself feel really bad about it, like- she can't stop blaming herself, I told her several times it wasn't her fault, but she denies whatever I say." Skye let out a sigh, putting her hand on her forehead.
"I worry for her wellbeing, she's just been through so much and now she finally decides to break." Skye muttered, she grabbed the glass cup, taking a sip.
"Maybe I can try to help her?" The person looked at her with a smile.
"You could?" Skye gave them a confused look.
"Yeah, or I could at least try. Also, sorry for not mentioning before." The person chuckled with a confident look on their face.
"My name is R...."
.
Lottie sat on Sunflower's bed, leaning on the wall. She gazed down at Sunflower, the girl was reading a book, she seemed very focused on it.
She couldn't help but smile when she noticed how serious her expression was, Lottie gently scooted closer to the girl, she began to stroke her hair.
Sunflower was relaxed by the action, her shoulders were tense at first but she let go of that feeling and began to relax her shoulders.
Lottie smiled warmly as she looked down at the girl, she thought about how beautiful she was, how her yellow eyes were entrancing, how soft and silky her blue hair was, she suddenly couldn't help but feel selfish.
She wanted the girl all to herself, forever. She didn't want to leave such an amazing person, she wanted to stay with her.
Sunflower soon put down her book, laying it into the stand beside the bed, she then turned her head to Lottie and smiled.
Sunflower reached her hand towards Lottie's shirt, she then pulled her down. Lottie shuffled on the bed, she went lower towards Sunflower's level.
Sunflower put both of her hands on Lottie's head, she brought the girl closer and began to hug her. Lottie placed both of her hands on Sunflower's waist, bringing her more close.
Lottie smiled, her eyes becoming slightly watery. She wished to have this forever.
Sunflower stroked her hair with her hand and closed her eyes.
It felt so amazing, but yet so painful.
.
Sunflower slowly got up from the bed, she began to rub her eyes, her head was aching. She looked around her surroundings, confused on how she got there. She let her eyes adjust to the light in the room before tossing the blankets to the other side, getting up from the bed.
She sat at the edge, holding onto her head.
It ached and it hurt, it hurt more than usual. She felt sick and very tired.
She was with Skye and someone else came along but she immediately passed out. She never knew how emotionally and physically weak she was when it came to drinking alcohol.
She now discovered something new about herself.
She proceeded to get up, walking to her door in a crooked manner, her posture was way off.
Once she got to the door she banged her head on it after hearing repeated ringing in her ear.
Why do I feel so horrible right now?
She then slowly went on the ground, laying down with her arms sprawled around. She felt her eyes become watery as she stared at the ceiling.
What am I even doing?
How could I be so pathetic?
If Jesse and them were to see me like this, a total wreck, they probably wouldn't like it.
The tears went down her eyes as her old friends all popped up in her mind one by one.
The tears streamed down her eyes as she thought about it more and more.
She put her hand over her eyes and began to sob on the spot.
I want to see them again.
I want to hear them again.
What do they even think about me now that I've left them?
I'm so stupid..
She wiped the tears from her eyes before sitting up, a saddened and beaten look appeared on her face. Here she was, sitting on the ground feeling sorry for herself.
Just like the rest of the low lives, she was now one of them, a lazy slob, who drinks to be happy.
She didn't care about the pity others gave her, she didn't care about the sincere words that came out of their mouths, she just wanted to be with them again.
If she had a chance to see them again, she'd apologize for leaving them in the first place, she'd hug them all and tell them she wouldn't leave them ever again.
It's just like what I repeat to myself, a girl could dream.
It'll never happen. It just can't.
She began to stand up, slightly staggering, she stood straight before narrowing her eyes to the window.
I really am pathetic.
She made her way to the window, almost losing her balance halfway, once she reached the windowcell she looked out the window.
To really believe that I'd see them again.
She had torrents of tears streaming down her eyes as she watched the trees rustle from the wind currents. The leaves flying place to place, the grass flowing in an everlasting pattern.
I could dream, but deep down I truly understand that I'll never see them again.
Do I really need to move on?
If it were all a dream, if this somehow was all just an illusion, I want to wake up.
Wake me, from this painful and everlasting slumber.
I can't stand anymore of what this world has to hit me with.
