WhAT THe AcTUaL FuC- WHERE DID YOU COME FROM???

................

Piper's POV

"Seriously, Madam Pomfrey, I can help!"
"I don't think that's a good idea, young man." said the nurse as she scanned the shelves for a particular medicine. "You lot have done enough damage already." Nico scoffed.

"As if we haven't dealt with worse."
"It's not like she knows that, Nico. If you have a brain, use it!"
"It's called sarcasm, Beauty Queen."
I groaned at the nickname. Couldn't they just drop it?

"Drink this." ordered Madam Pomfrey, suddenly in my face. I look down at the vial, which was filled with a rose pink liquid that was bubbling merrily. I took the vial from her, shocked by the cold feeling that graced my finger pads when I held it. It didn't seem like it should be cold, it was sitting in the open air, after all. Magic, I guess. Despite us having been here around two months now, I still forgot about their kind of magic.

"Madame Pomfrey, I swear it would help! If you'd just let me go to the dorms-"
"I don't think so, Solace!" she said whirling around and glaring at Will. "You've taken a stunning spell to the arm! What type of warden would I be if I let you walk free?"
"I suppose, but the unicorn draught-"
"-Will work just as well as out other methods." she said with finality in her voice. "I know you can help, but it's not good for you to be."

"But-"
"Cut it, Will. She's not going to let you go." said Nico from where he lay on his side. "I could go get it, it's only a matter of finding a shadow..."
"I don't think so young man!" Madam Pomfrey bustled over to Nico, and waved her wand over the cut on his arm. He winced as the skin sewed itself back together, leaving a significantly smaller cut.

I wonder how that works.

She sighed, before looking back over at me with tired eyes. "Are you going to drink it or not?" I started, before looking down at the vial in my hands.
"Right." I said in a vacant voice.

I brought the vial to my lips and tipped it back, screwing my eyes shut as a searing heat made it's way down my throat. I winced, bringing the vial down and looking at is wearily. Why the heck was it hot? The vial's still freezing.

"A nasty thing." said the pink-clad nurse with a sympathetic smile. "I didn't like it when I had it either."
"You've had it?" She chuckled.
"Numerous times. The first time was when I was a second year. Fell off a broom during flying. Passed a gargoyle on the way down."

"That doesn't sound nice." She smiled.
"It wasn't."

"Ugh~ My head hurts." I turned to the new voice to see Monica attempt to push herself up, only to collapse again. Madam Pomfrey's eyes widened before rushing over.

"For goodness sake, girl! You know better than to do that." She helped Monica up before propping her against some pillows. As soon as Madam Pomfrey left to get medicine, she turned to us.
"Has Hazel woken up yet?"
"Nope." said Nico, a hint of concern in his voice as he gazed at the bed in the corner. I didn't follow his gaze, but I knew what was there. I'd pretty much memorised the scene.

Hazel's body, lying on top of mostly white sheets, but by this time a spot or two of blood would have gotten on them. A cloth across her forehead and a dark green ointment rubbed over the shallower scrapes on her arms. On her left arm, a huge blood-stained bandage. Eyes closed. Unmoving.

I glanced across Nico's bed at Will, who was looking down at his hands, expressionless. He felt guilty. Good. He'd better. He blasted my best friend across a room straight into a stone wall, nearly killing her in the process. I got why he had to do it, but I couldn't help feeling mad.

"Are you alright, Monica?" said Nico changing the subject. Will had the decency to stay quiet.

"I think so..." she trailed off, wincing as she placing a hand on her forehead. She cracked her eyes open to look at me.
"What happened to me?" I turned to Will.

"Did you figure out the spell that hit Monica?" He shook his head.
"Nope. It's nothing we'd learnt."
"It was a dazzling curse." said Madam Pomfrey promptly, coming back in with a vial for Monica. "Not lethal, but will do short term damage."

"I wonder where she learned that." said Nico, his gaze on Hazel never wavering. Will sunk back into his pillow.
"So what happened exactly?" asked Will staring at the ceiling.

"She was possessed by a spirit." Madam Pomfrey's head whipped around sharply.
"Possession?"
"Don't worry, it's happened before." said Nico dully.

"WHAT?"

"Who's spirit?"
"Not sure. Clearly an old one though. None of those spells were mentioned in Hecate's lessons."
Madame Pomfrey glanced around confused. "Hecate?"
"Our old tutor."
"Slytherin's?"
"Maybe." hummed Will, his eyes closed. I felt a flicker of anger. How was he so relaxed???

"Wait, I don't get any of-"

"Gah!" Golden light flooded my vision, burning into my eyes. I screwed them shut and red was seared into my eyelids. Great. I hate sunspots.

"Open up! No point sitting like that!" My stomach plummeted at the familiar voice. I cracked my eyes open to see the sun god staring at me smugly.

"What is it Aphrodite spawn?" Aphrodite spawn? "And what's got the rest of you down in the dumps?"
"Uh, hello? My sister was kinda thrown into a stone wall!" said Nico fury in his eyes. Apollo rolled his eyes.
"Please, as if Will would do something that would kill her! She'll have a few broken bones, but the angle she landed at guarantees she won't die. Will knew that, right buddy?"

"I was completely sure when I saw her later, but yeah. I knew the theory." I sighed, guilt settling into my stomach. Of course Will wouldn't do anything that would danger us.
"She'll be fine within a few days." said Persephone, dabbing what looked like nectar on her wounds. "Might need a bit of help walking though."

"Well done, you four." said Hecate from where she stood in the corner. "But I do have one complaint." Seriously? A complaint?

"And what might that be?" asked Nico with his eyebrow raised.
"Piper didn't listen to her dream!" I looked at her affronted.

"Your dream! You know, the one with the blue and grey marks???"
"W-what?" I could kinda remember having a dream like that. "What did they mean?"
"SELENA! SELENA WAS A LEGACY OF ATHENA AND YOU DIDN'T REALISE!"
"HOW WAS I SUPPOSED TO KNOW! THE ONLY CLUE YOU GAVE ME WERE A FEW MARKS!! IN A DREAM!!!"

"You're clever, we expected you to work it out. If not you, at least Nico."
"Don't drag me into this." Hades sighed from Persephone's side.

"Alright. On a lighter note, the council has finally reached an agreement on you four."
"Well, what's the verdict?"

"We're allowed to continue to train you, on the condition that the other's can borrow you when they please."
"Borrow us?!"
"Their words, not ours!"
