Piper's POV

I lay in bed that night staring at the ceiling. We'd moved the trunks into the common room a while ago, and I'm pretty sure I'm the only one awake.Strange. I was usually a really easy sleeper. My dad used to say I was a daughter of sleep. I chuckled. He must have been thinking about Aphrodite at the time. Come to think of it... there must have been a lot of instances where he was thinking about Aphrodite. He loved her, she stayed long enough to have me, and then she was gone. Just disappeared. And I bet he didn't even know her real name.

I felt rage bubble up inside of me as I flipped over aggressively to face the other way. Aphrodite had ruined countless peoples lives. My dad, Reyna, and others that I probably didn't know about. I would honestly hate her, if not for the fact she had improved so many others. Look at Will and Nico. I smiled. Those two couldn't get married fast enough.

I sigh from Hazel brought me back to reality, and suddenly I was staring at a wall again. I sighed. I hate not being able to sleep. It's like you're stuck in a weird place where time doesn't exist. But knowing my over-active imagination, it's probably just me. We were finally back in the Underworld, and there was something wrong. With everyone. Hazel was really nervous. At dinner she seemed kind of out of it. She seemed quieter than usual, and she was really jumpy.

Will was worried about Nico. I guess their soulmates, and are almost fully bonded, and he was his doctor, but he seemed more disturbed than usual. Seriously. I could be over-analyzing it, but I'm pretty sure than something's off. More off than usual. And that's saying something, because there's almost always something off when your a demigod. I sighed and rolled over.

A couple of months ago, we were at a party. I'd snuck some alcohol, Nico and Will were calm and happy, Hazel was able to see Frank, and then we'd been called to the big house. Usually when someone's given a quest, it's worrying obviously, but this is more than a quest. We were chosen. By primordials. I didn't know much, but I knew it wasn't going to go away. This was, as my dad would say, a life-changing gig. But in a different way.

Dad... I hadn't seen him since last summer. We'd moved away, and I'd obviously felt guilty, but I'd decided to come back to camp for summer. Now I was stuck. I felt my throat burn with that all too familiar feeling that you get when your about to cry. I didn't try to stop it this time. I knew that if things went wrong I wouldn't be able to see my dad again. It was a perfectly good reason to cry if you ask me.

"Hmm... I wonder what dad would do.."

I was covered in marks. They were all the same colours, blue, grey, black, gold, purple and red. Strangely familiar, but why? Then it hit me. The symbol on the door to the common room.

Black, Gold, Purple and Red. Nico, Will, Hazel and me. But who were the two others? I looked around. I was in a.... classroom? It looked like something out of a witch story. Small cauldrons made of something that looked like bronze were scattered across tables. Black stands rested behind ever two cauldrons, each stand holding a book. I picked one up. ADVANCED POTION MAKING. I let out a nervous chuckle that echoed around the dark room. "Potions? I'm going insane." I murmured. The quiet dialog ricocheted off the dark walls, alarmingly loud.

It was like this place was designed to reveal secrets.

A prickling sensation started to spread across my skin. I looked down at my arm and yelped. The grey marks were slowly fading, kind of like what I imagine a fading spirit would look like. Creepy. So one of the strangers were in trouble, a severe kind of trouble, or at least I think so. As I looked, more and more of the grey marks disappeared, until there were no more left. But then something caught my eye... a new mark was being sketched onto my skin. But this one was.... green?

~~~~~~
I started. I was looking at the ceiling again. What? I had been having a dream a second ago.....
I sat up and rubbed my eyes, sleepily surveying the room for what woke me up. I squinted through the darkness, hardly being able to see 10 feet in front of me. My eyes adjusted to the darkness, and I could make out the outline of a sleeping Hazel to my left. I pushed myself into a more comfortable position and looked across the room to the boys.
The two of them were on Nico's bed, Will seemingly cradling Nico. He must have had a nightmare. But what about? Nico's body was shaking, almost as if the boy was crying. But what would be so bad that it made Nico cry? He'd seen more than most demigods. But I'd never seen him cry. Ever. I don't think anyone else would have either. I could make out Will's voice. He was whispering soft words to the younger boy, and rubbing circles into his back. I smiled. He'd be okay.
I lay back down quietly, trying not to be noticed. As my head sank into the pillow, I remembered what Will had said. Something about Nico needing to control his nightmares? I frowned at the ceiling. Why? We were going undercover, but Nico didn't have to hide his nightmares unless other people would be in the same room while we were sleeping. Strange.
The room was a mix of cold and warm, the perfect temperature. Eventually the darkness and the sound of Will's soft singing overtook me, and I was struggling to keep my eyes open. I turned around to face Hazel, and my vision blurred, darkness tinting the edges and dancing into the middle as I drifted into a deep sleep.
"Piper!" I groaned and opened my eyes to see a beaming daughter of Pluto. "Look!" she said biting her lip. I stared at her confused. "Huh?" I said groggily. I squinted up at Hazels brownish gold eyes. She rolled her eyes. "Look at Will and Nico!" Okay that caught my attention. I pushed myself up and rubbed the sleep out of my eyes. I looked over at the boys side of the room, and it took all my willpower not to squeal.
Nico and Will were on Nico's bed. Will had his arms wrapped around the shorter boy, and his head resting just above Nico's. He was laying down next to Nico as opposed to cradling him like he did last night. Nico was lying down next to Will with his head in the crook of the older boys neck. The blanket lay discarded at their feet as they took in each others warmth. They're legs were tangled together, and the two of them were still fast asleep. Oh gods they looked so cute!
I felt the bed shift under me as Hazel sat down. "Should we wake them?" she asked half-heatedly. I thought about it for a while. "Nah. Give it a few minutes." So we gave it a few minutes. We just sat there staring at them in silence for a while, before Hazel piped up.
"So, have you been planning the wedding?" She asked grinning. I nodded, a smile spreading across my face. "Good." She said standing up and dusting off her pants. She was wearing a pair of skinny jeans with a purple SPQR top. "I want Percy and Annabeth's kid to be flower girl." She said firmly, crossing her arms and smiling. "Hmm." I stood up jokingly. "I was thinking you and Franks actually..." I was rewarded with Hazel falling silent, and her dark cheeks tinting a dark red. "I-I s-shut up Beauty Queen." She stammered. I giggled.
"What are you two doing?" We turned around to be greeted by the adorable image of a awake Nico and Will, lying in bed and looking at us. I laughed and walked over to them. I stood at the foot of the bed and surveyed the scene before me. "I could ask you two the same thing." I said smiling cheekily.
Will blushed running his hand through his hair, and Nico just groaned and flopped back onto his bed.
