Nico's POV

I blushed as Will pulled away from the kiss, and -as usual- buried my head in my chest. From my little hollow, I could hear Will laughing, Divani squealing, and a few other people saying that we were adorable.

"Aw, voi due siete cosi carini!" Seriously Monica! I took my head out of my robes and glared at the glasses-wearing girl.
"Shut it stronzo." She laughed.
"Someone's got a temper."
"For fuck's sake!"
"Nico!"

I rolled my eyes as the bell rang, and stood up squinting at my timetable.
"Okay, we've got potions." I said looking up at the others. Divani smiled.
"It's a core subject. We've all got it." Will and I followed her and Monica down many corridors, through passageways, and a secret route behind a tapestry before emerging at the door to the potions classroom, which was a dungeon.

"This cannot be healthy during winter." mumbled my blond-haired soulmate as we walked through the door. I rolled my eyes while leading him to a desk in the middle of the room, which was next to Divani and Monica.
"Relax Will. They're wizards remember." I said pulling out a potions book. We'd done a lot of potions in our classes with Hecate, and Will was a natural.

"Where's the teacher?" I asked Divani. We'd been here for around 5 minutes already, and the teacher still hadn't shown up. Any normal teenager would love a few period, but not me. This hadn't happened in any other class and I was bored. Sue me.

Divani chuckled. "We have Slughorn. Don't worry, he's a charmer." I was still confused, but instead helped Will set up the cauldron. Hehe. Cauldron. Such a witchy word.

Sure enough, a few minutes later a man who was clearly in his golden years walked through the door. He had a pot belly, wispy mustache and was going slightly bald up top. He walked to his desk, set down his briefcase, and turned to us beaming. Okay, this is going to be interesting.

"Hello children! Alright, I know things are a bit different this year-" Will snorted "-but I assure you that this class will stay the same." he smiled around at us. "But no slacking off! Alright, we're going to start off with something you haven't done before, just to see where you stand. Turn to page 91, the Hiccoughing solution, and begin. You have 1 hour to get the first half done... begin." he turned a green hourglass over on his desk, and the room was instantly filled with sounds of flipping pages, grinding draws, and people going to the pantry to get more rare ingredients. Will absent-mindedly turned to page 91, and clapped his hands excitedly.

"We get to use lionfish spine!" said Will excitedly. I sighed at his geekiness, and brought out the other ingredients.

Monica's POV (DIDN'T THINK I'D DO THAT HUH????)

"We get to use lionfish spine!"

I chuckled at Will's childish personality as I pulled out my potions kit. It was... refreshing. Having someone else who spoke italian around me again. Mum and Dad do speak it, but how often do you get to see your parents when you go to Hogwarts? Don't get me wrong, I love the place! But one does get homesick sometimes.

Honestly, I'm not sure how Will and his friends managed to settle in so quickly. They were homeschooled, weren't they? I sprinkled horn of Bicorn into Divani's cauldron as she chopped up gurdyroots.

"Hey Div, have you noticed anything... odd about Nico and Will? And they're Ravenclaw friends?" Divani frowned at me as she scooped a handful of chopped gurdyroots into the cauldron, turning the mixture a light lime green.
"What do you mean?" I shrugged.

"They've adjusted terribly quickly, haven't they? I mean, I get their smart and all but this is a huge change. And not to mention that they don't seem very afraid of V- I mean You-Know-Who."
Divani looked at me horrified.
"You almost said his name!" she whispered. I looked down at the cauldron. Yeah. I wanted to say the name. I wanted to curse it, yell it, scream from the top of the astronomy tower. Tell him I'm not playing his stupid game anymore, and make him pay for what he did to my aunt.

I was silent as I added boomslang skin to the mixture.

...........

Nico's POV

"Well done boys! Full marks." said Slughorn beaming as he took in our mixture. Will was grinning, and even I had to smile. Divani wasn't kidding when she said Slughorn was a charmer. A loud ringing filled the room, reminding me of the time all those months ago that I'd picked Will up from school. The bell. Only this time it didn't scare me. What. I don't like loud noises.

Will and I packed up and headed out of the classroom, following Monica.

"So what's your next class?" she asked us once we were out of the door.
"Divination." She snickered. "Okay, but honestly, the teacher is rubbish." I looked at her with a raised eyebrow. She was never this quick to judge. "No seriously. Most of us dropped out after the first few years." Right. One thing about Slytherin, no tolerance for bullshit.

Will and I trailed behind a Slytherin boy who was apparently headed for Divination as well. We were climbing up a winding staircase along with around 5 other kids.

"So, what're you expecting?" I asked Will. He smiled faintly.
"Well, I for one have had enough of prophecies. Besides. We'll know in a moment if she's a fraud." The staircase ended at a wide landing, finally giving me enough space to breath. Everyone was quite for a moment, but the a silver ladder descended from a trapdoor in the ceiling, followed by a airy voice.

"I've been expecting you." it said, the words drifting down into the room. A few students sighed, but then made their way up the ladder.
"Here we go again." mumbled a Griffindor student. I looked at Will, who shrugged, and started to climb the ladder.
