ON WITH THE STORY!!!!!!!!!!!

........................

Will's POV

I yawned as Nico and I made our way down to breakfast. I know we're at boarding school, but they give us way to much homework. After the excitement of yesterday, I could hardly get to sleep. So I did homework, and let's just say I didn't really get to bed any earlier than twelve.

I heard a chuckle from my side, and turned my head groggily so I was facing Nico.
"What are you-" I yawned, "-laughing about?" The Italian grinned and said nothing. I pouted, and then reached over to the coffee.

"Uh, Will? You've already got coffee." Wait... I looked down at the white cup at the side of my plate. Sure enough, it was full of brown liquid.
"Hmm..." I hummed, and stared at the brown jug irritably, earning a laugh from Nico.

"Sunshine, when exactly did you get to bed last night?" he asked me with a raised eyebrow. I felt my posture sag even lower -if that was even possible. I mumbled my answer, and hoped he wouldn't ask again.
"What was that?" he said suspiciously. I winced.

"Uh, around two am?" I said biting my lip.
"-WHAT?"
"Hehe..."

"Jeez, Will, you need to take better care of yourself." said Monica sliding into the seat opposite us. I groaned, and laid my head on the table. Now both the italians were after me.

"Loosen up a little guys," said Divani picking up a bagel. "Monica, you can hardly say you haven't done the same thing." she said looking at the blue-eyed girl pointedly.
"That was when we had O.W.L's." said Monica calmly.
"So?"
"Uh..."
"Exactly." said Divani promptly.

Monica rolled her eyes as I smirked at her.

"But still, Will." said Divani taking a bite of her bagel. "You should try taking your own advice sometimes."
"And that," said Nico smirking. "Is what I have been telling you since I met you." I groaned, and plonked my head back onto the long wooden table.

"Attention students!" I lifted my head and looked toward the head table disoriented, the bright autumn lighting making my head pound. A stiff-looking witch was standing up amongst the rest of the teachers. She had a creepily angular face, and her posture made it look like her spine had been replaced my a metal rod.

"As you may know, yesterday one of the Hufflepuff students was in detention."
"So?" A tall round boy with mousy brown hair stood tall in the middle of the Gryffindor table. "What has that got to do with us?" called a black haired Ravenclaw.

I turned my head to Nico, and winced. He tried to smile back, but it looked more like a grimace. Over at the Ravenclaw Selena was glaring at her toast, Hazel was holding Selena's hand, and Piper was staring at the ground. Divani was playing with her fingers, and Monica's blue eyes were locked on her breakfast.

A dark chuckle rang through the hall, and the sinister shape of Amycus's hunched form rose above the other teachers.
"Because, dear children," he said snickering. "We used a certain curse on your classmate, and he definitely came off worse."

Within milliseconds, the previously silent hall was filled with noise. Cries of outrage from the Hufflepuffs and Griffindors were accompanied by angry muttering from the Slytherins and Ravenclaws.

"Shut it!" Just as quickly as the noise had come, it was gone. Every eye in the hall was focused on the staff table, where Minerva McGonagle stood. Her black-rimmed glasses were askew on her angular face, and her livid expression was accompanied by two flaming black eyes.

"Good." she said standing up, the muscles in her neck bulging as she adjusted her glasses. "Take this as a warning. Hogwarts is under you-know-who's control now, and you should see fit to act as if it were." She sighed as Amycus sat down, his eyes glinting sadistically.

"Cayden Williams will be returning to lessons, and I beg you to take note of his condition. As much as it pains me to say this, the Hogwarts you knew no longer exists." Divani and Monica's shocked expressions filled my peripheral vision. Nico's jaws clenched as he took in the scene in front of us, but my face was void of emotion. We knew this was coming, we were just trying to ignore it. But too late I guess.

"Please obey your new teachers, even if they don't deserve a shred of your respect." I saw the twins jaws tighten, and felt dread pool in my stomach. What was she saying? They're right next to her for gods sake!

Alecto growled. "Leave." she said standing up. "All of you."

There was silence for a moment, and then the sound of anxious voices and stomping feet accompanied us out of the hall.

"What is McGonagle thinking?" asked Nico whispering in my ear. Despite the situation, I shivered at his closeness. "She's going to get herself killed!" I nodded, and grabbed his hand, steering him toward the corner of the entrance hall where Hazel and Piper stood.

"So what do you guys think?" asked Hazel anxiously as we made our way Charms. Nico shrugged.
"I think we need to get the heck out of here, and fast."
"Yeah." I said quietly. "Anyway, do you guys know what those necklaces were for?" Hazel nodded.
"Hecate said they were for our nightmares, I found a note in the box." Piper smiled wearily.
"Well that's one problem solved. But what about the locket?" Nico frowned.
"I dunno, we'll walk to Monica tonight."
"Good." said Hazel. "But this afternoon, come to the Ravenclaw commons. The others can come too if you want. We might be able to find something on horcruxes."

The broke away from us and disappeared into the crowd. Nico sighed.

"Well. At least we've got a plan for this afternoon." he said nonchalantly. I chuckled.
"I just hope there's enough time. We should have seen whether we could go during a free period." Nico snorted.
"Even if we could, I wouldn't let you." I looked at him confused. Since when did he care about tha-
"Why in Hades did you stay up so late?" I groaned. Just great.

"No, seriously, Solace. You need to take better care of yourself."
"Says you Mr skeleton. You can talk to me about sleep after you sort out your own issues." Nico snorted.
"Hypocrite."
"Death boy."
"Sunshine."
"Idiot."
"You love it." he said as we reached Flitwick's classroom.

I hummed. "I know." I placed a kiss on his nose, earning a squeak from Nico. I grinned as his face slowly turned red, and he gripped my hand looking at his feet.
"Shut up, Solace." He mumbled, kicking my foot. (My friend does this.)
"Nah." I said as I tugged him into the classroom.
