broken wings

it was too late at night when yerim was awaken by the sound of the thunder. she looks at her side to see sooyoung sleeping peacefully. her lips slightly disconnected but still manage to look captivating regardless. yerim roses up from the bed, slipping on her purple flops as she about to sit on the sofa for some thoughts. her heart feels like dropping after noticing a figure sitting on the sofa. her mouth letting out a slow gasp. the man is starring right into her eyes. "jungkook ?" she asks when she notices the loops on his cap.

"why are you awake ?" jungkook asks, patting a spot beside him. "the thunder woke me up." she answers, walking towards him and sit beside him. "why are you here this late ? i thought they wouldn't allow more than one visitor at this hour." jungkook laughs slightly, "honey i don't need their permission to come in." yerim smiles, pinching his nose. jungkook's  brows curl up, "what was that for ?" he asks, unusual of some cute intimacy.

"nothing. that's what cute couples always do." yerim states, offering a friendly grin. "well you need to cut it out." the man replies. "but why ?" eyes wide, she forces him to look at her. "because we are nowhere near cute." he deadpans. "but we can be one." she argues. her eyes wide as her lips pucker into an adorable pout. jungkook lets out a slight laugh, a genuine one before looking away. yerim chuckles too, getting pretty used to jungkook's genuine actions. the man can't really be the one he used to be -arrogant, full of tease- when he is with her.

"so why are you here ?" yerim asks, her hands wanders on the white plastic sets on the table. "no reason. i just wanted to watch over you" he just  watches as yerim attempt to find any food left inside the plastic, smiling at her action. "here." he said, handing a box of flavored chicken wings. "thank you." the girl said, wide eyes piercing through jungkook. 

"a therapist wanted to set an appointment with me." yerim said suddenly, munching on the wings. "really ? who is he ?" jungkook asks, her eyes never leaving yerim. "i don't know. sooyoung had searched up his name and he's pretty well-known." the girl answers, looking back at jungkook. "well, if you think it is necessary, then maybe you should give it a try." jungkook mutters, taking the chicken to eat. watching yerim really makes him a little hungry. "my mom thought so too. even sooyoung said maybe i should go."

jungkook curls his brows, "is there anything bothering you ?" he asks, noticing the way yerim zoning out. "i'm not sure. maybe because i never went to therapist before." she said, raising her brows in mere second as a gesture to wipe her thoughts away. "you know you don't have to go if you don't want to." the man states, looking at her in concern. "nah, i think maybe i should go. just so.. you know.. to clear few things out." she grins. jungkook smiles back. "i think it's a good idea." he said

the next morning, sooyoung woke up only to find an empty spot beside her. anxious, she quickly rose up to look for yerim. her heartbeat goes back to normal when she see her friend trying to clean up the table.

"why are you awake so early ?" sooyoung asks, startling yerim a little. "i couldn't sleep." she replies simply. sooyoung sighs, getting off the bed and walking to her friend. "you know you should get enough rest right. stop making me worry." she states, sitting beside yerim. her brows slightly raised as she saw the new food on the table.

"jungkook drop by earlier because i was hungry." yerim explains, reading sooyoung's mind. the latter nods. 

"uhm.." yerim voice out suddenly while they were eating. "what ?" sooyoung asks, stop munching on the black bean noodle. "i think i might go to the psychiatrist you were saying." yerim looks at sooyoung who does not seem surprised in the slightest bit. "you still got the card he gave you ?"

sooyoung nods, her hand rummaging through her back pocket and taking out a small piece of white card. she hands it to yerim. the later then read the card. "doctor kim seok jin." she reads after the card. "you sure he is a trusted one ?" sooyoung puts the water she was drinking down and nods. "she seem so to me, and i never guess wrong."

yerim nods. somehow her heart is uneasy. it beats faster and her hands sweaty. she looks around the room to see the shadow spreading on the wall. she stares at it, as if they were locking gaze. her hands felt like punching it although she knows it is no use.

"what you looking at ?" sooyoung asks, waking her up from her thoughts. she shook her head. "i will be discharge today right ?" her eyes never leaving the shadow. sooyoung nods regardless, knowing yerim always starring blankly at nothing.

later that evening, yerim was so happy to leave the creepy hospital. the hospital is fine but something does not seems right. especially in her room. it felt like something was guarding her room and it was not jungkook. there were too much things yerim had been ignoring, despite her heart felt uneasy at most of the things, but she needs to let it slide. she had no power to do anything.

her heart starts bumping loudly when she exits the car. the sight of jungkook made her heart warms and her lips curve. she runs to him, hugging him so tightly. from behind, sooyoung clears her throat loudly. "the disrespect at single people is.. uh.. mind-blowing." she teases sarcastically. yerim laughs, holding jungkook's hand. "that was why, me and jungkook had someone with us today."

sooyoung lips were forced to stop a smile. she slaps herself internally when the sight of someone appears from behind the pole at the parking lot. "you shitting me right." she whispers. yerim shook her head, laughing as she walks further from sooyoung to give her space.

"are you the juliet of my romeo ?" the man asks soon as he arrives in front of sooyoung. "i don't know, are you the love of my life ?" she replies, smirking when the man lets out a slight laugh. "woah, that was quick." jungkook teases behind the two.

"sooyoung, this is hoseok. hoseok, sooyoung." yerim said, introducing the two. sooyoung nods, her cheeks blushing a shade of pink. "oh my god, we shall leave you two alone." yerim snorts, grabbing jungkook away from the two.

all four of them were enjoying home movie when night came. yerim is wrapped by jungkook's long arm. the man keep whispering sweet nothings in her ears. sometimes made a dumb jokes, making the girl burst out laughing. hoseok and sooyoung ? they got along pretty well. although sooyoung was a bit shy, but hoseok knows how to keep a conversation.

"shall we have a sleepover here ?" jungkook asks as they were eating pizzas. yerim looks at sooyoung for a green light, all three of them did. "well, i am okay with it." and that was all to make yerim smile.

later, the two girls lay out a comforter and give out pillows for each of them in front of the TV. they had jungkook and hoseok to move the coffee table and the sofas to make more space in the middle. hoseok lay on the left side, beside him is sooyoung. they make sure to create a little gap in between. beside her is yerim and jungkook, cuddling into each other's arms.

their action made sooyoung a little jealous. she just met hoseok for a day and she is certainly not going to ask hoseok for a cuddle. even lying side by side is pretty embarrassing for someone who just met. so she just lay still, the only thing she could hug is the extra pillow that was used to be a border between her and hoseok.

looking at her current state, you can say sooyoung is actually really cute being shy. her cheeks are still red and she stays still, not daring to move an inch afraid that she might touch hoseok. despite looking very intimidating and flirtatious most of the time, sooyoung still had her soft, adorable side which is very rare to see, even yerim didn't always get to see it.

knowing that her friend is shy, yerim keeps on teasing sooyoung. making lame jokes but it is funny to her. sooyoung was so close to punching her in the eyes every time yerim gets close to her ears. it was a fun night regardless.

This is indeed a very boring chapter. i am sorry
