"sydney, quit staring at michael, would ya?" i heard ashton tell me.

"huh?" i broke out of my daydream.

"you've been looking at michael for the past 20 minutes, give it a break."

"i wasn't staring.."

"i thought you hated him. better hate him than like him."

"i don't hate or like him. he's just my friend."

"oh so now you two are friends."

"yep."

"better stay that way."

"whatever."

ashton walked back on stage for another soundcheck. now we're in california, visiting their old pals, one direction. i've really only talked to niall, louis, and liam. never spoken to harry or zayn. didn't feel the need to. they're nice.

after the soundcheck, we all went back to the band house.

"michael guess what?" ashton told him.

"what?"

"sydney was staring at you during soundcheck."

"you're lying."

"nope."

"ashton, stop lying. we all know she hates him."

"calum, i'm not lying. i swear."

"yeah cal, he's not lying. we were friends, but i guess she likes me now, better go ask her out."

"HAHA. IN YOUR DREAMS PAL."

"she is in my dreams."

"well keep her out of them."

"i'll try."

at that moment i walked into the living room.

"hey sydney."

"hey."

"sit next to me babe."

"um, no. i'll just sit here beside ashton."

"great idea, little sister."

"i'm not little, don't make me prove it again."

"go ahead, i'm right here," calum blurted.

ashton glared at him. alright time to go to 1D's house.

"let's go already."

"fine."

we drove there, and all was fine until i saw how huge the place was.

*niall opens door*

"niall!"

"oh my god! it's 5 seconds of summer!"

"haha, how you been man?"

"amazing, come in, come in!"

he let us in, we hadn't seen him or anybody else in months. obviously we looked different.

"who's this?"

"my sister.."

"well hello, younger irwin."

"hi niall."

"we've met before haven't we?"

"yeah."

"well it's great to see you again." he gave me an awkward hug. weirdddd.

"c'mon everyone else is in the back!"

we followed him to this huge room with a huge couch and a plasma and just regular things you would find in a famous group's house.
