Artemis was also the Goddess of a ton of things, not as much as Apollo, but still. She was Goddess of the Hunt, Wildernes, Animals, Young Girls, Childbirth and the Plague. She was also the moon Goddess, and it was common to see her wearing a crescent moon circlet on her forehead. Her sacred animals were Deer, Bears and Wild Boars.
When she was born, she asked Hestia to take her to her father, and there he promised her anything she wanted, promised on the river Styx. And she asked to be a maiden forever. That meant she would never have a husband or children, and still to this day, there are no demigods born from Artemis.
Her father of course had to say yes. She had a group of girls with her, all of them young girls, forever immortal if they chose to join her, and all of them maidens forever.
