It was later that night and everybody had gathered together to celebrate the holiday.
Of course it didn't mean everything was fine.
Maya had cried about three hours in her room and that was just about enough to drive Cory crazy.
He told Riley what he thought about it and now Riley was leaving Maya alone.
But Farkle was in her case.
And for Lucas...
Well he decided to try and cheer Maya up.

"What happened?" Lucas asked Maya as he sat down next to her.
"What does it matter?" Maya asked.
"You and Josh can make it work. I think you'll make a cute couple but stop sitting around feeling sorry for yourself," Lucas said.

Maya looked at him.
No simpathy and that was what she wanted.

"Thank you Lucas," Maya said and gave him a hug.
"No problems. You okay now?"
"More than."

"What about a song to lift the mood? Something very heartwarming," Cory said.
"I can give it a try. I haven't done it before but it's worth a shot," Maya said.
"Why not?" Cory said and passed Maya a guitar.

She meddled with the chords and when she saw Josh she knew what to sing.
When Maya smiled he knew it was going to be something he hadn't ever heard before.

"Sometimes life gets bitter
I get strung out, caught in the middle
And I can't breathe
I just need a little taste of paradise
I know a place I can escape to
Where I go, troubles never break through
The grass is greener, my head is clearer
I got peace of mind when I fall into your eyes
Your love's like breathing in the salty air
Of summer on a private island just for me
Your love's like the feeling I get
When my favorite songs spinnin' in my head
Keep it play playin' on repeat
It's like flowers in the spring time
Every day is Valentine's
So good it's hard to describe
It's like Paris after midnight,
Dancing in the moonlight
That what your love,
That's what your love's like
That's what your love,
That's what your love's like
That's what your love,
That's what your love's like
Stop signs, I keep on runnin' into
Red lights make me wanna scream like
Why can't it just be only you and me all the time
In a world no one can find
Your love's like breathing in the salty air
Of summer on a private island just for me
Your love's like the feeling I get
When my favorite songs spinnin' in my head
Keep it play playin' on repeat
It's like flowers in the spring time
Every day is Valentine's
So good it's hard to describe
It's like Paris after midnight,
Dancing in the moonlight
That what your love,
That's what your love's like
That's what your love,
That's what your love's like
That's what your love,
That's what your love's like
When life has left me numb
And I need a pick me up
There's no better rush than your love
Your love, your love
Your love's like breathing in the salty air
Of summer on a private island just for me
Your love's like the feeling I get
When my favorite songs spinnin' in my head
Keep it play playin' on repeat
It's like walking on the ceiling
Can't compare the feeling
Better than I could ever describe
It's like soaking in the sunrise
Not a worry on my mind
That's what your love,
That's what your love's like
That's what your love,
That's what your love's like
That's what your love,
That's what your love's like
That's what your love,
That's what your love's like
That's what your love's like."

"Where in earth did you learn to sing like that?" Cory asked.
"I don't know."
"It was great Maya," Riley said.

"Okay I think it's time to figure out what is going on and for that I think we need a who matches who quiz," Farkle said.
"Farkle I..."
"Riley quiet. Sit down," Farkle said.

Everyone sat down and Maya looked at Josh.
She knew what was going to happen and she was very scared as well.

"Okay first question. What is the most important part of any relationship?" Farkle asked.
"Romance," Riley said.
"Adventure," Lucas said and Farkle shook his head.
"Conversation," Maya said.

Everyone was waiting for the correct answer but Farkle just looked at Maya.

"You're... Right," Farkle said.
"Okay. Why is that so weird?"
"Think you and Lucas switched characters," Farkle said.
"Next."
"How do you know when you truly love somebody?"

Everybody looked at each other and Riley sigh.

"Anyone?" Farkle asked.
"There is more than one way," Maya said.
"Actually there is. You're right."
"But I can say that the biggest one is trust. Being able to trust someone so much you'll automatically tell them anything. I'm done playing games. I wanna talk to you," Maya said.
"Who?" everyone asked and Maya grabbed Josh's hand before running upstairs.

Everyone looked at each other not even knowing what to say.
When Maya and Josh sat down Josh knew what she wanted to say.

"You don't have to say anything Maya. I know what you want to say," Josh said.
"What are we?" Maya ask.
"I don't know. Why is it so important for you to know what we are?" Josh asked.
"Because I don't want to guess anymore," Maya said.
"I can't honestly tell you what we are. Because I don't know. I don't know what we are," Josh said.

He looked at Maya for a few seconds before he answered.

"But I can tell you that I'm not always with you guys. I sit around observing people a lot."
"What do you know?" Maya asked.
"You sure you're ready?"
"Right now," Maya said.
"What I observed about you, is that you're the best friend anyone could ever have. Maybe it's because your dad left, maybe it's because you never felt that love, but it gave you the greatest capacity of love I've ever seen."

Maya looked with big eyes at Josh not saying a word.
She knows that he isn't lying.
She could see it in his eyes.

"Say it again," Maya said.
"You heard me," Josh said in a quiet voice while looking down.
"I did," Maya said.
"Why aren't u ou saying anything?" Josh asked.
"What do you want me to say?"

Both looked down and Maya looked at her hand.

"Josh," Maya said.
"What?"
"Wht have you let me hold onto your hand this entire time?" Maya asked as she lifted Josh's hand up which was in her palm through their entire conversation what made him look at where their hands were in each other.
"I don't know. I don't know everything," Josh said.
