****8.2 - Thieron****

Thieron changed out of his gear into something more casual. He still wore the holster underneath his maroon shirt holding all four of his blades.

He stared at himself in the mirror; at his eyes. They would forever remind him that he was different. Despite it, Alton had taken him in; given him a home; given him a good position within H'eon and had accepted Lalana and Luka as his just on Thieron's word.

He left, telling Luka where he was going. It was getting dark, and there were just two more people other than him for the Terra Turbo to Innermost. By the time Thieron reached the School Housing, the dark had consumed every little light in the sky. He switched on the Signal Interceptor as he neared the Housing Complex. After the soft beep of the device sounded, he scaled the wall and jumped to the other side.

He walked to the open lawn area between the blocks of buildings. There were many humans enjoying dinner on the lawns or a walk in the tree-covered paths. Thieron pulled the hood of the sweatshirt he was wearing over his head and walked over to Block H. That is where Luka said the girl lived.

"Then, Harvest her." Alton Ivar's voice went through his mind.

"There's something about her." Luka had whispered almost unknowingly when Thieron had told him about Ivar's command. "Just decide if you must kill her."

Thieron huffed hoping it would banish his confusion and stopped in front of Block H, looking around the building. A small group of humans was having dinner close to the building on the lawn. He didn't know which floor the girl lived on; according to Luka, she wasn't currently at the Apartments. But, he had come anyway since she had to get back for school the next day.

He sat a little distance away from the group, having dinner and took out his Scroll and extended its length a bit, pretending to read a book on it. He spent nearly an hour doing so, and he started to wonder if the girl had gone inside already.

He sat for another half hour; the group's merriment was annoying him. He looked at the humans laughing, and it reminded him of things he wanted to etch out of his memory. Just as he was about to leave (not because he hadn't seen the human girl, but because of the annoying group of humans), he spotted one of Etrie's men. He had seen him around Etrie several times. The man came into view for a second before he hid behind a tree. Thieron would surely have missed it if he had been looking into his Scroll.

Thieron placed the Scroll closer to his face. He pulled at its corners to increase the size of the screen so that his face was covered by it and he looked at where the man had been, from above the device. And, there she came.

The girl wore blue jeans and a purple shirt. She had a backpack on her shoulders. She looked once at the Scroll on her wrist and continued towards Block H. She didn't seem to notice Etrie's man trailing her as she walked past the group having dinner on the lawn. Her hair was long – it reached almost to her knees.

And then he felt it.

Something was different about her; indeed, she felt strong. Luka was right. No wonder Etrie kept her guarded and hadn't erased her memories of the Harvest. Etrie meant to keep her close to himself. Thinking back to the time he had seen her first that night, he knew why he hadn't killed her instantly. He had felt she was different.

He whispered, "In-Kwan." Her soul lit up, and he was stunned by the color of it.

The girl went into the building. Etrie's man came out from behind the trees lining the paths from Block to Block and followed her in.

Thieron stood and looked up at the building, hoping to catch which floor she was on. But, it was nearly impossible – there were too many floors and too many windows leading to too many possibilities.

He turned around and found a man looking at the building from close to where Etrie's man had been. Thieron had seen him before – with Luka. The silver hair of the man was unmistakable. Thieron looked at him for a moment longer and left.

What was Luka up to?

Thieron crept out of the gated housing and walked towards the Turbo Station; the hood still over his head.

"Then, Harvest her." Alton's voice echoed in his mind again.

But did he want to? Etrie had a real interest in the girl; even Luka had seen something in her. He had felt how strong her soul was; he had seen the color of her soul.

Could he go against the leader of H'eon though? And, if she were a powerful Àvo soul, he would have to Harvest her anyway.

But, Thieron also toyed with the idea of irking Etrie just out of spite. It would be fun.

So, he decided on a wildly different course of action.
