Ava

When I got to school, it was really empty, so I decided to go to my maths room. Usually, I went in early, my seat next to his desk.

It wasn't that I didn't like the class, I just preferred to be in a settled.

Without paying attention, I walked into the classroom, coming to a halt when I saw several teachers in the room.

"Oh, I-I, sorry,"

"Ava, you're early," sir smiled, "You can take a seat if you want,"

"Sorry,"

"It's okay, I'll pop over in a bit,"

I kept my head down and sat at the desk, getting out my book. My cheeks were burning, but hopefully they were all as nice as sir was.

There was a bit of shuffled and I heard someone sit next to me, my body tensing.

"I'm Miss Hopes,"

"Ava,"

"It's nice to meet you, we were just talking about classes next year and although I'm not supposed to say, I have the pleasure of teaching you,"

"Not sir?"

"Both of us, we are splitting some classes,"

"Oh, okay. Please can I sit by your desk?"

"Of course. We are supposed to have a meeting soon about your classes so we can discuss things like that more,"

"Just for me?"

"Well your dad would be invited, and I think Mr Carter would come too,"

"You seem nice,"

She laughed lightly, nodding.

"I try to be. It was nice speaking to you, and I really look forward to teaching you next year,"

She stood up, taking her bag and leaving. All the other teachers did too, sir sitting at his desk.

"How have things been?"

"Bad,"

"I had a call from your dad, telling me to make sure you're okay. Do you want to talk about anything?"

"You're a maths teacher,"

"I am," he nodded, "but I'm also here to talk to,"

"We went to the cinema yesterday and I got overwhelmed with the amount of people. My grandma said I had to play football and when I tried to get out of her grip, she wouldn't let go and I freaked out, then ran and got Michael to get me. Dad got really angry and I swore and he held my shoulder but I was against the wall and it reminded me or stuff and I freaked out. Then I saw Calum and now I'm here,"

"Ava, breathe,"

"It was a lot,"

"It sounds like it, but he sounded distraught on the phone,"

"He was making himself the victim though,"

"Look, here's what we will do. I want you to do as much work as possible, but I won't send you home with any. When you see him, try and explain calmly how it looked to you, and let him do the same. You two seem to have a great bond, and this shouldn't break that,"

"I was really struggling with fractions,"

"You are very good at changing subject mrs, the class is practising them today so I will work with you,"

"Thankyou,"

"I think someone is here that wants to see you,"

I looked at the door and saw Julie, beckoning her in. Her blonde hair was pulled up in a ponytail, and it swayed behind her as she walked. Like Luke's,  eyes were really blue, and I was jealous of her figure.
