you know,
there's something
about it.
about what?
about
the plants on the windowsill.
they have
the same pot,
the same soil,
the same watering schedule.
what of it?
one of them is dying.
nobody noticed,
because the other
is so tall and
so green.
its leaves are droopy
and browning,
and its soil is damp
with the water
its roots refused to take.
what?
why didn't i notice?
everyone gets distracted
by the beauty
of the big picture
and they forget to look
at the details.
