C17 | You Don't Know |

"You've been on edge all week, what's wrong?" She asks.

Levi had a straight face as he looked at you.

"So, I really think that it would be best for us to stop doing what we're doing. Like, stop hanging out." Your heart sank as he said those words.

"W-what?" You say, tears threatening to spill out. Levi looks into your eyes, soon seeing signs of pain and depression in them.

"Why?" You ask.

"Because you've gotten injured by me enough already, I don't want to hurt you anymore." Levi gets up.

"When we got back together, you had no idea what you had gotten yourself into..." He turns his knob and opens the door.

"Tomorrow me, Atylia, Mike, Hanji, and four others are going out on an extended expedition. We won't be back for about a week, you are in charge, since you will become the next commander soon..." Levi exits and closes the door, leaving you speechless.

The morning soon came, which brought you to your awakening. You got up and fixed yourself up, you were in charge until everyone comes back. You tripped out of your doorway and into the wall, earning a wave of dizziness. You recovered from that hit and started stumbling towards the Mess Hall. You took a seat next to Anaya but stayed silent the whole breakfast. You sent everyone to have a day off for the time being until you got back on your feet. You dragged yourself into your room and flung yourself onto your bed. You closed your eyes, trapping yourself into a cocoon under your blankets.

A smile formed on your face as warmth surrounded your body. You sat there, sprawled across your bed, thinking about yesterday. A tear rolled down your face as you thought about the man who makes your heart ache. You couldn't believe he left you, then left the HQ for a week! You stopped thinking for a moment, soon only having Levi's safety lodged in your mind. You frown.

Ever since everyone left, you had just been stuck in you and Levi's bedroom. You barely ate, never slept, and didn't talk. You were on edge, waiting for everyone's arrival. Once the day came, you sat outside all day.

The wind blew and the birds chirped as you waited for everyone's return. After about 2 hours, eight horses soon came into sight. You smiled for once in two weeks. You waved and tried to spot Levi. Your heart stopped as you saw someone missing.

It was Levi, and Hanji's recruit...

Hanji stopped in front of you, handing you a familiar ring.

"This..." You slowly take it.

"We found it on the ground... It's was Levi's, right?" You take the ring and place it beside your ring that looked like a replica. The letters in the two rings spelled out, linked.

"He...?" You murmured. Hanji nods.

"I'm sorry.. we lost him." You look at the ring, soon dropping on the ground. Tears started flowing down your cheeks.

"He promised me..."

You both stood infront of the large building as a tear made its way down your face...

"I'm gonna miss you so much." You whisper. He pulls you into a hug. His warmth spreading throughout your body. You rest your head on his chest.

"I'm gonna miss you too. I love you ______." You look up at Levi.

"I love you too..." You start to cry again. He takes off his (favorite gemstone) necklace and puts it around your neck.

"Remember me..." He says. You nod your head.

"Remember me." You reply.

He lifts up your chin and places his warm lips onto yours. You wrap your arms around his neck and you pull him in closer. A tear rolls down your face and you close your eyes.

You heart was beating so fast. 'Why does he have to go? Why did I fall in love with him when I knew he was gonna leave me?' You thought. Levi breaks the kiss and hugs you so lovingly, holding you like you're a fragile newborn baby. He lets go of you and kisses your forehead. He smiles and starts walking to the entrance.

"Levi!" You shout. He turns around to be greeted by you hugging him. You position your head towards his ear.

"Live for me?" You get go of him and you can see his eyes watering up but he quickly wipes them away.

"I will. And live for me." He gives you the warmest smile you've ever seen and walks to the building. Tears started to well up in your eyes as you watched your only lover you've ever had walk away. To kill, and possibly be killed...

You got up and ran into your bedroom to grief alone. You smelt his scent as you cried into the bed sheets. You knew one day one of you would die, just not so soon...

"I-I love you Levi...I always will, and when we meet in heaven, we will be together again, forever...
