There were nights. Cool, clear nights. Where the sky was devoid of clouds and the moon shone brightly above the world.

Nights where Mycroft and Greg were both knackered after long days, or long weeks. But had just enough energy left over to drag a blanket and a bottle of wine into the back garden.

They'd both sit together for hours in a tangled mess of arms and legs and blankets. They'd smile happily at each other and Greg would ramble on about a few of the different constilations he could remember. Mycroft would smile, nod and pretend he didn't already know all about it because his partner's tired eyes would light up when he talked about it.

After a while of talking about everything and nothing they'd fall silent and gaze either at the night sky or at each other. They'd both be smiling like idiots the whole time, adorable idiots.

Eventually one of them, usually Greg, would fall asleep. So the other would have to carry them inside and tuck them under the bed covers before going back to drag everything else inside. Then they'd snuggle up in bed and dream about an evening well spent.

And both of them would be completely and utterly content.
