Ian POV

Will is still kinda nervous about the idea of Ariel using her power again. he's still arguing

"Just leave her to do what she wants, Will. You've been fighting since yesterday"

"No James"

"Will please," I said eventually

"Oh so everyone is turning up on me"

"No Will, we're not. It's just that we're tired and she always wins the arguments

+ she's 18 now" Said James.

Will looked again at Ariel

"On my dead body"

"Oh god"

"Ok, ok. I'm going home" said Ariel

"Wait, Ariel"

I followed her outside

"Wait, Ariel"

"I'm sorry Ian but this is stupid and I can't take it anymore"

"...."

"I need some fresh air, can we go please on your bike?"

"Ah sure"

Ariel stood next to the shoreline, while Ian was locking his bike.

"Tell me, Ian. Have you ever felt so damn done with everything in life?"

"Uh, I don't know"

"It's ok you can tell me"

She sat on the sand, holding her skirt with her hands.

Ian sat next to her awkwardly

"But you wanted to talk about yourself". Said, Ian

"No, we can talk about you too" she said with a huge smile.

Silence for seconds

"I, I actually have no idea what's going on with me"

He laughed briefly

He made brief eye contact and saw her listening

He continued

"I overthink, nearly all the time, you know I'm anxious about every inch of me and I...I ask myself when will this ends"

"What kind of anxiety"

"you know.. It's like I don't really matter. Nobody really cares if I came home or not"

"What?? Ian, noo"

"Please, let me continue. My mother doesn't really care. She's... She's is an alcoholic since my dad left and..."

"Ian..."

"I'm pretty sure she won't really know or care where I was the whole day or if I ever slept or ate or...Ahh, F**k. I'm sorry it turned so dark"

"NOO. Ian. You never told me that. And It's okay but you don't have to feel like that. You have people care about you like me and Lisa"

Ian laughed

"Ian I mean it. Did you ever talked to her?"

"Yeah we fought, several times"

Second of silence

"Ian, Look at me"

Ian glanced at Ariel for a second

"I'm sorry I know it's not the time..." Said Ian

"Sorry about what? Look closely, Ian. I'm very happy you opened up about it...Do I look like I don't care? Ian, you're my friend and if at any time you want to talk I'm always here for you. Any time"

"thanks"

"Always welcome," she said it with a smile that melted the boy's heart.
