In Genevieve's mind, her absence felt like an eternity. She was stuck in a never-ending string of memories, and it was evident she hated every one which crossed her mind, but even though she struggled, after a few silent seconds, she managed to center herself back in reality. Thanks to Mark Sloan. She was certain she'd still be caught up in the past if it wasn't for him.

"Are you okay?" His inquired, his gruff voice cutting through the silence. A worried glint shined in his blue eyes when he sidestepped a bit to shut the door.

When he did so, he couldn't help but notice the look which settled on Genevieve's face. The slight frown which etched its way on her lips. The way her brows furrowed down in thought, and the stare that seemed to stretch past the scenery before her.

However, even though she was lost in her thoughts, she was grateful he spoke up when he did. If he hadn't, and the sting of memories continued, it would've only added fuel to the fire, and right now that fire was ferocious, manifesting itself as a raging headache. It licked and crackled through the confines of her skull, throbbing with every second that passed. It only escalated due to the unsettling realization that she'd be graced with her parent's presence. She knew it was inevitable, and she couldn't help but think that they were the root and reason for her deflating mood and aching head.
