Once Genevieve caught a glimpse inside her room, a sense of panic spread through her chest. She feared she'd see her parents with a sour look on their faces, while they impatiently waited for her, but the room was vacant. When she realized that, she released a breath, feeling relieved she'd have a few more moments without them.
"Rough relationship?" Mark guessed, breaking the silence when he noticed the look that crossed her face. He couldn't help but recall when her parents showed up a few days ago. It wasn't hard to guess things weren't the greatest between them.
Genevieve huffed before her lips twitched up briefly. "You could say that—more of a misunderstanding. They think they know things, but they don't," she elaborated vaguely clearly referring to the months prior to her hospital stay.
The next following seconds, she couldn't help but recall the few exchanges that seemed to float to the surface.
