•COMING DOWN•
Monday, June 7th, 2010 . . . 10:52 P.M.
The air was tense, along with every muscle that held Genevieve together. They contracted, clamping down in waves of rage. After a few minutes, the feeling would pass. She'd take a breath to calm her nerves, but every time, no matter how hard she tried, the feeling returned with even more ferocity.
Her plan for serenity had failed. She couldn't calm down. Her shoulders were stiff. Her fists were clenched, balled up tight as if it would crush the anger she felt, but even that failed.
The rage only intensified.
Her emotions crashed against her in heavy waves, drowning her in the rising tide. With every breath shakily heaved and huffed from her lungs it grew until the feeling became unbearable.
Hatred.
The feeling was just as pungent as the fleeting threats that were shouted seconds ago. They clouded the air, weighing down heavy on not only Genevieve but as well as her boyfriend, Damon—or rather ex-boyfriend. He had acquired the title several weeks ago.
The words he spouted several moments ago replayed in Genevieve's head like a mantra, mixing and harboring with all the lies he'd spouted throughout their relationship. She couldn't rid them away from the caverns of her mind. They stuck, seeping into the cracks like glue.
