Love is all Seeing and Accepting

Ariana's POV

"Riri, wait!"

Tumigil ako sa paglalakad nang tawagin ako ni Alexis na tumatakbo patungo sa akin. As usual, he looked handsome in a simple t-shirt and jeans as he approached me with a wide smile.

"Heard you're joining the pageant tomorrow." He smirked, throwing his arm over my shoulder. His face was very close and if I was the same Ariana as before, I would've fainted in joy but I don't have the same feelings for him anymore.

I forced a fake smile and tried to distance myself from him but he kept his arms over my shoulder. "Yes, pero kung pwede lang sanang magback-out gagawin ko."

"Bakit naman? I'm rooting for you tapos magba-back out ka?"

"Well, kung pwede lang sana pero hindi eh." I sighed. "Pageant is not my forte so I don't think I'll make it."

"You're already giving up when it haven't started yet." He said squeezing my shoulder. "Kapag nasa stage kana, wag mong isipin na magkaakamali ka, just smile and show them your confidence."
"Easy for you to say. I'm nervous already." I said chuckling. Si Alexis kasi ang nanalo last year. Given that he's a model, madali nalang sakanya ang humarap sa camera at sa maraming tao. I even remember screaming my lungs out cheering for him last year and having a soar throat the next day. I thought I was in love with him but I only realize what true love means when Jaxxon came and what I had for Alexis was mainly adoration.

"Kahit ano pang sabihin mo, I know that you're gonna win and if that happens, you'll have to treat me. Deal?"

"I'm not gonna win." I contradicted.

"I know you will." He said with a knowing smirk.

"Well then, thanks for believing in me and sorry for future disappointments." I joked.

He laughed at nang madaanan namin ang mga kaibigan nito na nakatambay sa isang bench,pasimple kong inalos ang kamay nitona nakapatong sa balikat ko. Napansin nito ang ginawa ko pero hindi na ito nagsalita pa. Akala ko ay lalapitan nito ang mga kaibigan pero nanatili parin ito sa tabi ko.

"Your friends are in there." Turo ko sa grupo ng kalalakihan.

"I know."

"You can go hang out with them, it's okay."

"No I'm fine. Nagsasawa na ako sa kanila." Pagbibiro nito saya tawa.

"Hey, Alex!" Sigaw ng isa sa kanila. "You guys look cute together! Don't forget the deal."

The said guy laughed as the other guys whistled and laughed as well. I was expecting Alexis to shut them up but he  only shook his head with a smile.

"Sorry about them. Ganyan lang talaga sila." Paumanhin ni Alexis.

"What deal are they talking about?" I asked when we were finally out of their sight.

"Uhm, that you're gonna treat me if you win."

"Ah, okay." I said nodding my head.

Half of the day was spent with me practicing our talent portion with Drey and trying to perfect it though it was impossible, Cherry was very strict and made us do it until there is no mistake made. The whole day, I had to put all my attention to practice to try to forget about the longing for Jaxxon.

Hindi ko din siya nakita maghapon at kahit na gustong-guto ko na siyang hanapin ay pinigilan ko ang sarili. I just told myself repeatedly, 'not yet'.
