^.^ Chapter 9 ^.^

Start from the beginning

Cyan you better distance yourself.  Who said speaking to themselves is crazy. I give myself great advice.Either he is a good guy and you will be attracted which will lead to a broken heart in the end. Or he isn't a good guy, he is a typical unfaithful guy and you will end up hurt.

Considering both options ended badly I decide to go and find Lea without waiting for his answer. She is walking with a couple of other girls which I had't been introduced to yet. I fall into step beside them.

"Hi," They all turn to look at me, pausing their conversation. The two girls introduce themselves as Dora and Suzanne and then Lea speaks up, a mischievous glint evident in her eyes.

"So, Cyan. We were just talking about you..." Surprised, I keep quiet and wait for her to elaborate. "How's it going with you and my cousin?" She gets straight to the point.

Ah, this is why I liked her from the first day we met a couple of days ago.

"Well, Lea. I'll answer that when you tell me what's going on with you and Ethan..." I know I've got her there when her expression freezes into place.

"Ohhhh... she got you there Lea," Suzika puts her hand up in a high five and I meet it with my own. She seems nice, short brown hair and dark green eyes with a slim athletic figure. Lea pouts childishly and gives me a playful shove. Neither of us get an answer to the questions as we slow down to a stop. I take in my surroundings and they leave me breathless.

'The Cliff' is literally one of three visible cliffs from where I am standing. There are people on one of  the cliffs and there are signs everywhere - clearly stating that you should jump at your own risk. The shore is close enough from the cliffs to swim to and the tide looks high enough for it to be safe but the height does make it intimidating. The view is amazing, the sky is clear of any clouds so the sun is out, shining above the water making it sparkle. The white sand of the beach in the distance visible from this height makes the view picturesque. I make a mental note to take a few pictures later on.

We approach the edge but keep a safe distance, laying out the blankets for comfort. Everyone lays out a blanket bigger than the average towel except for me. When all blankets are laid out the end result resembles a large multicolored square. I sit with Lea, Suzika and Dora. Everyone has baskets and fridges packed with food and I feel guilty.

"Lea, are you sure there isn't a shop I can just buy something at? It's not fair since I didn't bring any-"

"Nooo way! You just got here you weren't expected to bring anything," Dora is the one to speak up first. Lea and Suzika nod in agreement.

"We always have extras anyway," Lea adds reassuringly. Although I had just met Suzika and Dora they had been so nice to me it was hard for me to accept it. I wasn't used to being treated this way. Here, people didn't feel as hostile as they were in my hometown.

I smile appreciatively and nod my head, accepting the sandwich Dora is handing me. Its a chicken salad sandwich, one of my favorites. The peace is broken when Ethan, Josh, Luca and two other boys - which I believe were called Carson and Michael - approach us. Carson and Michael are brothers, only a year apart from each other. They both possess good looks and are no exception from the rest of the men I had met so far. They squeeze between us and lay there bags of food in-between ours. The girls move a little to make the circle bigger in order to fit them. I stay where I am, unwrapping the foil from my sandwich carefully. Before I can take a bite out of it, its taken out of my hands from behind.

I turn around ready to demand my sandwich back but when I notice its Luca I clamp my mouth shut. He takes a bite out of it and makes a big show of enjoying it.
