Cyan Celeste is an average 20 year old girl. She has lived in the UK in a small town called Ballintoy and has only left her small town life a couple of times to visit her dads side of the family in Spain. When her relationship gets ripped to shreds...
We go our separate ways and decide to meet up an hour later in-front of my house, by the shore. I walk down to the shore and lean on the life-guard post as I wait for Lea to come down. I hear my phone go off in my back pocket and take it out.
It's a text from Lea,'I'm on my way.'
I put the phone back in the back pocket of my light blue jeans and pull on the loose sleeves of my loose white crop top. Although it was a crop top you couldn't see any skin as it hung loosely over my high wasted shorts. The only skin you could see was through the lacy design of the top around my tummy. Well that and my shoulders because the top hung in an off the shoulder design. It was the only thing I had brought with me that I thought might be suited to a beach party. I had packed very lightly only bringing one suitcase containing a couple of dresses, shorts and bikinis for the beach and some decent clothing for going into town. I hadn't planned on going to a party so soon, thinking I could just buy something if the occasion came up. Thankfully, it was just a beach party so my favorite top and shorts would be good enough.

My thoughts come to a pause when I hear someone approaching.
"Hey Cyan! " It's Lea. She is also wearing something similar to me, the only difference being she is wearing a snug green cropped top, showing a bit of skin. Her hair is up in a messy bun - unlike mine which is plaited down my back, only a few loose hairs hanging free framing my face with loose curls.
"Hey Lea, ready?" She nods but before either of us can say anything her phone rings. She picks it up and we start walking.
"Yeah - he can't go? - oh alright - yes she is - i know but i haven't said anything - ok I'll ask but no promises." Her one-sided conversation doesn't tell me much. She hangs up, putting her phone away, I look at her curiously.
"So, who was that?"
"Well, it was my uncle, the one that owns the diner?" She pauses and I raise my eyebrows in question. She takes a deep breath "So, he-saw-us-having-lunch-at-the-diner-yesterday-and-since-someone-cancelled-their-performance-tonight-he-needs-to-find-someone-to-fill-in." The words jumble out of her mouth, barely comprehensible.
I laugh put a hand on her shoulder, "Ok, Lea, can you speak to me in English now?" What's her uncle and tonight got to do with me. Unless...
She still looks unsure but slows things down, her hands flying about nervously as she talks, "Well, he needs to find someone to perform a couple of songs tonight and last night - when you sang at the diner - he thought you were really good and the crowd liked you. So he was wondering if -"
Realization dawns on me and I shake my head, "No, no way Lea. Sorry but I haven't even had time to think about it. Last night I was just pressured into it and I'd never done Karaoke so I did it but I get way too nervous on stage - especially if I haven't practiced."
