Chapter 23- Better

H E N R I E T T A

Father sent me a letter for the second time for this week. He's reminding me for the plan he's been putting on for Nekessa. I couldn't do anything but to agree. Yes. I agreed with my father and the plan was all settled.

Realization hits me so damn hard. I can't do anything but to be responsible enough to do the task my father asked me to do. Siguro nakalimutan ko ng hindi ako isa sa mga Hurtery. I am their enemy at dapat iyon ang itatak ko sa utak ko. I should do my responsibility, nothing more.

Napahinga ako ng malalim habang pinagmamasdan ang iba't-ibang Hurtery na pumapasok sa bus na naka-assign sakanila. I'm sitting with Leigh and Felicity, ako ang nasa tabi ng bintana. Ngayon ang araw na pupunta kami sa bayan ng Hurtville para sa free day namin. Ilang araw na ang nakakalipas at friday na ngayon.

Maaraw ang panahon ngunit hindi naman ganoon ka-init. Hindi kailanman masakit sa balat ang init dito sa Hurtville, sa halip ay malamig pa nga sa balat ang hangin.

Sa paglilibot ko ng tingin ay natagpuan ko ang sasakyan ng Warriors na gagamitin nila para bumyahe papunta sa bayan. Sa lahat ng estudyante, sila lang ang nakahiwalay at ang mga professors rin naman ay may bus na sama-sama sila.

Clyde saw me and he waved with a wide smile. Tiningnan rin ako ni Nekessa at Victoria at ganon rin ang ginawa nila. Nasa labas sila ng itim na kotseng sasakyan nila at tila hinihintay nalang na umandar ang engine ng bus na mauuna.

I gave them a small smile at pinagmasdan ko ang ngiti ni Nekessa.

Would you still smile like that after what will happen?

Iniwas ko ang tingin ko sakaniya at binaling sa ibang direksyon ang paningin ko but when I did, I cleared my throat exactly when I saw Dawson with someone.

Just like the first time I saw her, she's pretty and sophisticated. Her poise could be the best poise you could see aside from Victoria and Nekessa. Her blonde shoulder-length hair were moving by the wind which you can actually say she looks extremely beautiful because of that.

"Carrie and Dawson are together!"

"Omygod. They're cute!"

"Bagay na bagay sila!"

Carrie Lea Light is the new topic that all of the students were talking about these past few days eversince she arrived from the human world. Yes. She's the daugther of the highest-rank councilor of the Hurtville-- the Light. And she's the girl Dawson were always with since then.

Una ko siyang nakita kinabukasan nung araw na pinatawag kami sa conference hall. I was walking on the way to the school garden and when I was already there, I ended up being a spy which I didn't meant to happen.

"I missed you, Dawson." Narinig kong sabi niya ng makita ko silang dalawa sa loob ng tahimik na school garden.

I wasn't sure kung sino ang babae dahil hindi siya naka uniform ng Academy but all I could say is she's extremely beautiful with her soft-look and soft features. Napaka-amo niyang tingnan.

Napatago ako sa bushes ng mga rosas sa kabilang gilid ng makita kong hapitin ng babae ang balikat ni Dawson and she hugged him. Dawson didn't hugged her back at hindi ko rin makita ang reaksyon niya dahil nakatalikod ito mula saakin. Well, I know his back kaya nakilala ko agad na si Dawson nga ang lalakeng iyon, besides he's the only guy who can be that different- authorative even if he's doing nothing.

"Are you still mad? I'm here now. I wouldn't ever leave this nation again." Sabi ng babae. Hindi pa rin sumagot si Dawson and the next thing happened made my eyes widened.
