the ocean was incredibly breathtaking.
water stretched far and  wide, creatures inhabiting all corners of the vast area.
sand as soft as a lotioned leg and trees as tall as mountains on the large, abandoned island perfectly in the center.
fourteen years ago, there was a clan of peaceful mermaids who made home near the island and in the water, however were nearly wiped out by greedy pirates whom slaughtered them before selling anything they could.
all these years past and there remains only one member of the clan to remain.
a tanned man, with the broadest of shoulders and the brightest of tails shot through the water, swimming fast as possible as if racing someone before stopping and resting his arms on a jagged rock only feet from the island.
following him was a dolphin whom he only acknowledged with a smile and a shrug before it swum away.
this was the life of kim seokjin, a 19 year old merman who offered nothing to the selfish pirates and was cast away to live alone in the water with nothing but the many animals to keep him company.
