Chapter 24: Regret

Iris's POV

I seriously just broke up with Jeff. Someone I love. Someone I wanted to spend my whole life with. I just let him go. But I don't deserve him. Ruby and Beth deserve him. As much as it hurts me to say that, it's just the truth. I was walking to my apartment in the rain. It's cold and Jeff isn't gonna drive me home obviously. It's cold too. I finally made it home. I walked inside and went to my apartment. When I got there the lights were off and it was dark since there is no sun out since, well it's raining. I do love him but Ruby and Beth probably love him more. Ruby needs a dad. I took a deep breath and walked upstairs. I took a shower. Then I got out and put ton pajamas. I played some music. I got a text.

Matt✌: Did you break up with Jeff?

Me: He can't be with me. He has a kid. She needs a dad.

Matt✌: I get that but he is devastated. He called me upset and told me what happened.

Me: We were only dating for a day. He got to attached. That isn't my fault.

Matt✌: Beth is always out there with guys. So it won't effect Ruby if Jeff isn't there. He can't even be there because we are traveling almost the whole week.

Me: Ok it doesn't matter! We have three days, sometimes four days off. He can spend that time with Ruby. Not me.

Matt✌: No. You and Jeff spend almost every day with each other. You guys are perfect together. And you ruined it!

Me: I'm sorry it's just I don't know if I can be with him!

Matt✌: Why not?

Me: He has a family!

Matt✌: Just do me a favor, don't talk to me unless it is in our storyline.

I dropped my phone and started crying. Yea I broke up with Jeff but it wasn't because I don't love him! It was because he has a family who need him more than I do! Matt should be on my side! Instead he's on Jeff's side. Great. I have no one again.
