Jeremy was stitching up Clay in the kitchen.
"The witches said it was the only way." Jeremy said
"There's no way you could have known." Clay said
"I almost killed you."
"You almost killed Aleister. Okay? We're going to find him and end this."
"We will. Just to make sure you're okay first."
Clay started shaking his head like he was trying to wave something off.
"Clay, something wrong?" Jeremy asked
"Is it a concussion?" Elena asked
"My eyes." Clay said, "The photoreceptors shifted."
Jeremy, Elena and I looked at each other worried.
"I'm fine." Clay said
Ruth came walking in. I stood protectively in front of Clay.
"You keep your distance." I warned "We almost lost Clay because of you."
"I'm not here to harm him." Ruth said, "I just do not understand how he's still alive after a possession."
"Aleister was surprised, too." Clay said, "He told me so himself."
"He appeared to you? What did he say?"
"It's foggy. He said something about a woman, a great woman who taught him everything he knows."
"Is that Clara?" Jeremy asked Ruth
"We have to find her." Ruth said
"And what if she doesn't lead us back to Aleister?"
"The Undoing has begun. I can feel across the Nexus all the other witches growing weaker. Unless we kill him by sunrise, all the witches will be dead."
I chuckled dryly. Everyone looked at me.
"I'm just not understanding." I said, shaking my head "We defeated him once and suddenly he's back alive. I mean, what's to say we defeat him again, is he going to come back?"
