I always met him
around the witching hour,
When others were safely
tucked up inside.
We were never afraid
of what lurked in the night,
If they came upon us
they'd be one's to take fright.We wandered lazily
through the darkened streets,
Conversation would be flowing
his company always engaging.
I would miss these evening meanders
in this quiet town.
However, the time had come
to move on,
There were too many bodies
to be found.
