As Sweetpea drives down the roads my grip on his waist gets tighter
"You ok Princess?"
"Yeah. I'm fine Sweets. I say as he stops his bike at the police station.
"Sweets you can't go in there. They're still looking for...."
"Calm down beautiful."
"What?"
"Calm down. Look at me." Sweets says as he takes my hand in his. "Everything going to be ok Princess. look at me he says as he makes me look at him as he shows me his collar to where his tattoo is suppose to be.
"Where?"
"I'll explain later. Let's see why Fang is here." Sweets says as we walk into the station
"Jug?! what are you doing here?"
"Fangs called me"
"Fangs what's going on?"
"King...is in jail."
"What?!" I ask as I look at Jug.
"Mariah breath." Jug says calmly as Toni hands me a water bottle
"M, Babe calm down we don't need you to pass out." Toni says as I take a sip of water as Sweets gently massages my shoulders
"Why is my dad in jail?"
"We believe that your father is selling Jingle Jangle"
"Jingle Jangle? What in the world is Jingle Jangle?" I ask
"Jingle Jangle also known as the JJ is a street drug." Toni says
"Ok and why on earth do you believe my dad would sell that stuff?"
"Because we had an anonymous tip come in saying so."
"Do you have proof of it beside you know the word of a random person?"
"No we don't"
"Then let my dad go!"
"Princess, calm down." Sweets says
"I'm sorry we can't. we need to do a check to see if there are any drugs on him or any proof that he is a seller."
" Can we go see him?" Jug asks
" In a few minutes. Who's Jacket is that Mariah?"
"It's mine sir"
"Where's your tattoo?" Keller asks
"On my back." Sweets tells him
"Show me" Keller says as Sweetpea takes of he's shirt exposing a snake tattoo on his back
"ok now put your dame shirt back on." Keller tells him as sweets winks at me before putting his shirt back on as I look down at the floor.
"you can go and see him now." Keller says as I take jugs hand as we follow another cop to the holding cells with Fangs and Sweets following behind
"Daddy?"
"hey Pumpkin. Nice Jacket" He says with a small smile
"It's Sweetpea's. "
"I know but, why?" dad asks
"I gave it to her so she wouldn't get sick because of the rain" Sweets says
"W...why are you in here? Y...your not actually s...selling d..d..drugs."
"No I'm not."
"Then why do they think it's you?" Jug asks
"I don't know Jug but, i do know that you two will have to stay together and strong . Jug you have to protect your sister"
"I always have and I always will."
"The three of us will help as well." Sweets says
"You guys don't..." Jug starts
"It's one of our laws." Fangs says
"If..."
" If a Serpent is killed or imprisoned, their family will be taken care of. It's the second law." I say
"How do you know that?" Dad asks with a look that mixed with pride and anger
"Sweets told me it the one day. It just kinda stuck."
"You give my daughter the initiation or something Sweetpea?!" Dad yells
"No I'm not. I would never go behind your back and do something like that." Sweets says
"Then Why does she know the laws."
"Because I ask what they were and he told me them so, don't yell at him and if I wanted to become a serpent I would talk to you and Jug about it first before doing anything."
"Good. Sorry Sweet pea. Now go home." Dad says
"What no."
"Mariah go home"
"No!"
"Mariah Jones, go home with your brother!"
"I can't... I don't want to leave you Daddy. please."
" Mariah..."
"No." I say as I take his hand. "I'm not leaving without you daddy." Suddenly Fangs and Sweets come up behind me
"Sorry Princess." Sweets says as he picks me up
"No!!No. Sweets put me down! Please." I beg
"I can't."
"Take her home."
"No!!! Dad!!!" I scream as Sweetpea carries me out of the room.
(Sweetpea's POV)
As soon as Fangs and I carrie Mariah out of the room she starts screaming her head off.
"PUT ME DOWN!!!" She screams as I put her in the ground as she try's to run back to FP's holding cell but, I pull her back.
"No let go of me.... please..." she begs as Toni steps in front of her
"M, stop. Your going to hurt yourself"
"Daddy..."
"I'm sorry Princess... I know you don't want to leave your dad but, it's what's best for you." I says as a tear runs down Mariah's cheek. As soon as I see it I go to hug her but Toni gets to her before me
"Shh.... everything will be ok. I promise." I says as Jug runs his fingers through my hair hoping it will help soothe her
"I want my dad..."
"We know you do M and you will be with him soon enough." Toni says as she takes Mariah outside.
"Sweets are you ok?" Fangs asks
"I hate seeing her cry"
"You got it bad man." Fangs says
"I know I do."
"Your a good guy Sweetpea." Jug says
"Thanks Jones." I say as we walk out and head to our bikes.
"I want my dad...."
"I know you do Princess but you have to be strong. Everything will ok. Let's get you home." Sweets says as I hop on my bike and help her on.
"Let's get you home Mari." Fangs says as he, Jug and Toni hop on their bike as we drive back to the trailer
