The group UNI.T was formed through KBS' survival show The Unit: Idol Rebooting Project. The Unit debuted a male and female group and the public voted for their group names. The female group was named UNI.T and the male group was named UNB. The name UNI.T was created from the word unity. UNI.T was formed from the top 9 contestants in Unit G during The Unit. The members of each group got together and chose the leader for their group. Yang Jiwon, Yoonjo, Euijin, and Woohee all appealed to be the leader but ultimately Woohee was chosen to be the leader of UNI.T. The group is a project group and will disband at the end of 2018.
