When Rain was 16 he debuted as a member of a boy band called Fanclub. They released two albums but did not get much attention. In 2002 he made his solo debut with Bad Guy. The next year he made his television debut with Sang Doo! Let's Go To School. He enlisted in the military on October 11, 2011 and he was discharged on July 10, 2013.
