you like drowning,

like the feeling of water filling your lungs,

the way the waves press against you wrapping you in a blanket of death

you like choking up the poison liquid that was not meant for you to breath in

and the burning in the back of your throat

you must like it

for i have taught you how to swim

and yet you continue to let the water drag you down

to where the pressure is too much

and your bones, brittle compared to the ocean, are crushed

do not blame me for your destruction

when i taught you how to survive

i did not pull you under into these pitch black depths and keep you there,

you were not weighed down by my lack of trying

it was you,

who chose not to resurface
