Chapter Nine: Knowledge

The class was deadly silent before laughter rang out. Many commented on how Nie Tai dismissed the Scarlet Sunburst Pattern with thirty-eight foundation patterns, and on how she said there were over six hundred of those foundation patterns! This is simply, unbelievably ignorant! The teacher said that there were only sixty-six, how could one hit so far off the mark?

Others couldn't believe that Nie Li actually dared to call the Scarlet Sunburst Pattern weak! Shen Xiu herself said that it was a top-tier Bronze Pattern!

Unable to hold in her laughter, Shen Xiu boisterously said, "Hahaha, you two are actually so ignorant and arrogant. There are several mistakes with what you said," Shen Xiu listed the 'problems' while raising a finger with a smile for each, "First, the Scarlet Sunburst Pattern is a top-tier Bronze Pattern that is very powerful. "Teacher must be really learned!" said Nie Tai with a smile that hid her idnignance at the teacher's ignorance, "You said that the Bronze Pattern, which could only be used to boil water, is actually a top-tier technique!" Nie Tai's cheery voice rang throughout the classroom.

"Yes! Benevolent Teacher also said that the Book of Divine Lightning-Fire did not exist! She must be very learned in order to know that books she has not read, do not exist!" Nie Li paused, his face both happy and curious. He turned to Nie Tai and asked, "Sister, do you not agree?"

Her smile was like the sun, much too bright, "Of course! Benevolent Teacher is very learned!"

His voice startled Ye Sheng, "Vice-Principal, send someone to retrieve the Book of Divine Lightning-Fire!"

"Of course!" Ye Sheng glanced at Lu Ye. Lu Ye quickly ran off, not wanting to provoke the two elders.

During this time, the students were watching the commoner flip through the book with bated breath. Especially Ye Ziyun and Shen Yue: those two were the direct descendants of Major Families; as such, they had the privilege of having many tutors and books at their disposal.

The Book of Divine Lightning-Fire was untranslated; therefore, very few students wasted their time with it because they had no hope of understanding the tiniest bit.
