Chapter 9 - New CEO

I thought after that incident, I won't be seeing her anymore. I was all wrong. Ang matindi, papasok pa kami sa parehong kompanya.

"Ikaw pala!" I started, pretending I was delighted to see her.

Her shocked expression turned to anger. She rolled her eyes to show how irritated she is to see me at naglakad siya pa-pasok sa kompanya.

"That's rude," bulong ko sa sarili ko at sumunod ako sa kaniya.

Nauuna lang siya ngayon ng konti.

"Good morning ma'am!" bati ng guard sa kaniya.

Hindi niya ito pinansin.

Suplada nga!

" Good morning, sir!" bati sa 'kin ng mga guard.

"Good morning," I answered politely.

Our office is on the 12th floor so I have to take the elevator.

There are three elevators available but all are closed.

She waited at the middle while I stood at the elevator on the right.

"Ms. Gabriel?" biglang sambit ng tumapat sa bandang kaliwang elevator.

" Oh, hi Mrs. Zhang!" bati niya in a lovely face. They greeted each other with cheek kissing.

Mayamaya pa ay napansin ako ni Mrs. Zhang.

"Mr. Welch!" sambit niya at lumapit siya.

" You came early!" impressed niyang sambit.

"Hi Mrs. Zhang!" bati ko sabay kaway sa kaniya nang mabilis.

"Welch?" pagtataka ni...if my memory is right, Mrs. Zhang mentioned her as Ms. Gabriel.

" Hindi mo pa ba alam? He's the son of Mr. Barry Welch and he's taking over the position!" pagpapakilala ni Mrs. Zhang.

"What? Seriously? This guy?"

Napatingin sa 'kin si Mrs. Zhang.

"Ms. Gabriel, I know you're only thinking of the company's welfare but the board agreed to entrust it to the former CEO's son!"

She rolled her eyes.

"Let me formally introduce you to each other!" tuwang-tuwang sambit ni Mrs. Zhang.

At sinimulan na nga niya ang pagpapakilala.

"Ms. Gabriel, meet Mareuz Oliver Welch, Mareuz for short right?" paglilinaw niya.

"Exactly Mrs. Zhang."

Naka-tingin lang sa 'kin si Ms. Gabriel. If looks could kill, for sure I'm dead by now but I observed, pinapalitan niya ang facial expression niya into being nice whenever Mrs. Zhang looks at her.

"And Mr. Welch, meet Allison Gabriel, Alli for short."

"Hi!" I said.

Suddenly, bumukas ang elevator.

" Hi!" Malamig niyang sagot at agad siyang pumasok sa elevator.

"Let's go Mrs. Zhang?" She asked.

" Uhmm...Mr. Welch, sumabay ka na," sambit ni Mrs. Zhang.

"Thanks! But...I'm taking the other one," sabay turo ko sa elevator na saktong bumukas din.

Tuluyan na silang pumasok sa elevator at inirapan pa ako ni Ms. Gabriel.

I wonder bakit hinayaan ni Dad na may makapasok na ganyan dito sa kompanya niya.

Pagdating ko sa 12th floor, everybody's greeting me. Near my office, I noticed a woman in her desk. Agad siyang tumayo nang makita ako.
