Chapter 11

I woke up the next morning feeling physically better, but with a disturbing conscience.
After a long search, I found my useless battered alarm clock under the bed. It was 11am.
Not my fault, my wolf, Sandy introduced herself to me last night.
I quickly freshened up and left the room. I wanted some fresh air and a good run.
Jogging downstairs, I moved to the kitchen and grabbed a cup of coffee with scrambled eggs and toast.
I met Nick at the dining table helping himself out with the same thing.
"Morning bro" I greeted, dropping off my breakfast on the table.
"Morning sis" he replied between bites.
"Heading somewhere? " I asked, taking in his well dressed up self.
"Yeah, to the blood moon pack. There's a party "
"Blood moon? Where's that? Party?" I asked confused.
Never heard of the name before.
"That's Adonis' pack. A party is being held in his honor today " he explained.
"Oh! " I exclaimed " Can I come with you? "
This might be the only chance to finally apologise to Adonis.
He gave me the same look Mom gave me yesterday.
"You sure about that? " he asked.
I think he knows Adonis and I are not in good terms, but I doubt he knows why.
"Yeah "
"Evelyn I really don't want...... "
"Don't worry, I won't cause trouble. I just want to be there " I assured him.
He sighed softly.
"I'll be waiting for you at the garage."
"Thanks! " I exclaimed happily and he smiled, still giving me a doubtful look.

"You look gorgeous by the way " Nick complimented.
We were already on our way to our destination.
I was on a short pale blue gown with nude stilettos.
"Thanks bro, You don't look bad either "
"I 'never' look bad" he said laying emphasis on the never.
"Flatter yourself, arrogant creature "
"And that creature happens to be your lovely big brother " he said with a wink.
I scoffed, fighting the smile that was creeping up my face.
"I love you too " he said laughing.
I couldn't help but join him.
It's been a long while since Nick and I fooled around like this and I also missed it.
"Tell me, what's your reason for coming along with me? " he asked becoming serious.
"I want to find my mate " I lied.
He chuckled.
"Really? I wish you the best of luck "

He stopped in front of the pack house. I didn't know my brother was so popular here, they let us past the border without any hesitation.
"Nick, I was wondering. What kind of party starts in the morning? "
"Actually, it starts at 5pm. I'm just here to chat with him " he said nonchalantly, killing the engine.
"Wait, what? You should have told me. What am I supposed to do? Walk around till it's 5pm?" I asked, annoyed.
"Well, you can go visit your best friend and kill time"
"What do you mean? Emily's here? "
"Yep. Just moved in with Oliver, met her yesterday "
"She didn't tell me anything about it " I said a bit disappointed.
"Let's go in so you can meet her and get everything explained. "
I nodded and he led me to the door.
He knocked once and it immediately swung open revealing a beautiful lady.
Was she watching us?
"Alpha Nick, what a wonderful surprise. I didn't think you'll be coming this early" She said, fluttering her obviously fake eyelashes with a wide smile exposing the whole front row.
She was taller than me.
Alpha Nick!
Do they know each other?
She looked with an expression of dislike.
I have never met her before and yet, she doesn't like me.
Is because of Nick?
Did he say something about me?
"My phone? "Nick exclaimed, oblivious of what was going on. "I must have left it in the car, I'll be right back " he said, leaving us alone.
"Are you his mate or what? " she asked still giving me that look.
I inwardly gave a sigh of relief, I thought she disliked me because of something Nick said.
"Yeah, He's my man" I lied.
I wanted to have some fun.
"Any problem? " I asked.
Her expression transformed into a hateful glare. She scoffed.
" As if he would go for someone like you "
I was shocked.
Whoa! This was becoming serious, all I wanted was just some fun not an enemy.
Nick came back almost immediately.
"Found it. You also left your purse " he said, handing it over to me.
"Thanks darling. " I collected it and gave him a quick peck.
Nick looked like he was just struck by lightning.
"Don't be silly " I said drawing his cheek.
"Can you please let us in? " I asked Natalia who had been watching us with a shocked expression on her face and wrapped my arm around Nick's.
She coughed and widely opened the door.
"Thanks dear" I said with a smile and dragged Nick in with me.
She closed the door and turned when I stopped her.
"Excuse me ?" She turned to me still bearing that glare.
"He's taken. alright?"
She left without replying. I didn't care anyway.
I turned to Nick with a self satisfied grin on my face.
I've had my fun.
"Shall we? I don't know the way around here. " I said, becoming serious. I needed to see Emily.
He refused to move wearing an unreadable expression on his face.
"Explain what just happened " he demanded.
"Oh that? " I proceeded to tell him everything that happened.
He burst into laughter.
"You are crazy "
"She asked for it. Who is she anyway? " I asked.
"An old friend of Adonis "
Huh? Friend?
I scoffed
"Whatever, I doubt we'll meet again. Now take me to Emily "
"I don't know where her room is, I just saw her with Oliver yesterday. Nothing much
"Well, that means I'll have to find her myself " I said going upstairs.
"Don't get lost, the house is pretty big. "
"Got it "
At the top of the staircase, there were two hallways.
Without much thought, I headed off to the hallway by my right.
