As we pull up to the carnival, I stare in awe at the large Ferris wheel lit up with colorful lights.
"Have you been to a carnival before?" He questioned parking the car, taking the key out of the ignition, and turning to me.
"Not since my dad took my when I was a little girl, no, never had the time" My lips stretched into a goofy smile. "Come on" I quickly hopped out of the car. I dragged him to the ticket booth and paid for our tickets. As we walked through the entrance, I looked around amazed as tons of nostalgic memories flashed into my head. I looked over to a familiar ball game that my dad and I played every time we came to the carnival. It was a ball and pin game, where you'd have to throw the ball at the pins, and my dad would always have to lift me up to his chest just for me to throw the ball at the pins. I dragged Jahseh to the game and turned to him "you gon' win me a prize?"
"Bet" he cracked his knuckles, payed for 4 balls and grabbed one and threw it at the cans, missing them. He tried again and missed again. As he picked up the last ball, I snatched it from him and threw it at the cans, knocking down all of them. The vendor laughed as he handed me a small bear, I thanked him and turned around to a surprised Jah. I smugly grinned at him and held the bear out for him to take
He glared at me and snatched the bear from me. We stopped at a few more booths then stopped to get something to eat. Once we were done we went up to a 'test your strength' game. Jahseh handed the stuff he was holding to me and stretched out his arms. He paid the man and grabbed the hammer.
"Show em' how it's done baby!" I cheered him on, he looked back at me and winked. He swung the hammer back and slammed it down on the platform. The meter tick all the way to the top causing a bell to ring. He stuck his arms in the air in victory as the vendor went to collect his prize, a huge teddy bear. He held on to the big teddy bear, that was nearly as tall as me, as he walked over to me.
"Where to next?" He asks putting free arm around my shoulders.
I felt like a kid in a candy store as I looked at all the games we had yet to play but my eyes immediately went to the big, rotating, colorful circle that towered over us.
"The Ferris wheel, I've never been on one before" I smile up at him. We walk over to the base of the Ferris wheel and got in line.
Once it was our turn to get on, we climbed in and settled in as we began moving up. I watched as we got higher and the view got better. We stopped at the top, cause they were still loading in people, and I looked up at Jahseh. He looked straight ahead at the view of the city, the lights of the Ferris wheel perfectly lighting up his face perfectly, making him look angelic. I reached up and tilted his head down and pressing my lips against his for a brief moment. As we parted, he smiled down at me and wrapped his arm around, bringing me closer to him. He leaned down again, pressing his forehead against mine and lightly brushing our lips together. We started moving again, going down. I looked him in the eyes and uttered three words that could change everything,
