The One where I Get to Drop Potions.

With all that went down at breakfast, I had completely forgotten about my dream but, as I made my way down into the dungeons for potions, I couldn't help but think about it again.

It was strange; there was no imagery present with this one. I was so used to waking up having seen what was going to happen but this time, there was nothing. Just voices.

Harry's voice was obviously present but the second person, a woman, she was harder to place.

As I neared Snape's classroom, I could see that he was standing outside of the room and I gave him a small smile, "Afternoon, Sir."

When I went to walk by him, however, his hand landed on my shoulder, stopping me dead in my tracks.

Oh dear, this couldn't be good.

"Miss Silver," he droned, "I have made the decision to, in light of your results in the mock exam at the end of last year, remove you from my class."

My eyes fell shut. I had a feeling that this was going to happen. It was no secret that I struggled with potions (Especially last year) but even with that, I thought I was doing alright. Well, enough to scrape by anyway.

"Good," he held out a sheet of parchment, "I have taken the liberty to write a letter for Professor McGonagall explaining why so you don't have to embarrass yourself. She can decide what she's doing with you."

"Got it," I whispered, plucking it from his fingers, "Can I just tell George that I won't be back in this cla...no? Nope. Okay, that's fine sir. I just want to say thank you for keeping me in here so long despite you probably known for ages that I wasn't cut out for it. An-"

"Miss Silver," he interrupted me, "Go."

"Right," I nodded, backing away from him, "I'm going."

Finding McGonagall was tougher than I thought it was going to be; she wasn't in her classroom, her office or the staff room so after walking around the castle aimlessly for half an hour, I decided to just sit outside her office, pulling out my new Defence Against the Dark Arts book. My as well get ahead in something, right?

As I read through the first couple of chapters, I couldn't help but notice the lack of defensive spells that were in there. In fact, after flicking through the whole thing, I found that there was nothing in there about using defensive spells either. It was a theory book.

"What kind of defence teacher doesn't want to teach spells?" I mumbled to myself, closing the book again, "Especially in times like these."

"Miss Silver?"

I leapt up from my seat by the window, book sliding across the floor to a stop at her feet and I gave McGonagall a small wave, moving to pick it up again as she watched me with beady eyes, "Hi Professor."

"What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be in class?"

"Oh!" I began digging through my bag, "I, um, Snape told me to give you this." I yanked the letter from the depths of my bag, snagging the corner on my zip.

She took it from me, and skimmed over it, letting out a sigh, "Okay, Silver, in you come."

I followed her inside, hesitantly sitting down on one of her chairs, feeling her eyes on me as she sat down opposite me, pulling out her tartan biscuit tin, "Professor Snape is refusing to take you any further in his class due to your grades?"

"Apparently so, Professor." I nodded, unable to keep my eyes off her biscuit tin. The last time I had seen that tin, was the day I had my breakdown as George called it and she kept trying to force Ginger Newts down my throat. I then realised I hadn't finished my sentence and cleared my throat, "But it's okay. I was never the best at potions anyway and this exam just proved it."

"You may not be the best," she agreed, "But this time last year, you were at least sitting at an Acceptable and now, what are you on?"

"A Dreadful," I muttered, toying with my hair, "It's just, all of this stuff with the...visions and stuff, it completely...I didn't study as much as I'd have liked to."

"Okay," she nodded, "Well if I give you these periods as frees, I want you to promise me that you'll use them to get the best out of your final exams."

"Actually," I murmured, fidgeting some more under her intense gaze, "I was going to ask if it would be possible for me to perhaps shadow some teachers? I've been thinking that maybe teaching is something I'd like to get into."

"Really?" she seemed surprised, a smile tugging at her lips.

"Yeah," I smiled back at her.

"Very well," she rolled Snape's letter up again, "I'll ask the staff, see who would be willing to have you in their classes."

"Thank you," I smiled again, pulling my bag onto my shoulder as I prepared to leave the room, my eyes flitting to the biscuit tin again.

What can I say? Ginger Newts are good.

Seeing my gaze, McGonagall wordlessly pulled the lid off of it and held the tin out to me, "Have a couple."

Letting out a small laugh, I picked up two and made my way towards the door, "Thanks again, Professor. Have a nice day."

The corridors were deserted as I made my way down to the first floor and as I rounded the corner to head to the library, our new Professor was heading towards me.

"Oh god," I whispered, looking both left and right for some sort of escape route. I didn't want to get caught up in an awkward conversation with her.

She got closer, her mouth twisting into a frown as she realised that I was out of class.

"Good afternoon, Professor," I said quietly, speaking before she could say anything as I gave her a polite smile.

"Good afternoon." she hummed as she passed by me and I almost stopped walking.

She was the one I had heard!

She was going to be the one who gave Harry detention.

I didn't see Harry until lunch and rushed to where he, Ron and Hermione were sitting at the Gryffindor table.

"Harry Potter," I sang, sitting down across from him, ignoring the looks the other two were giving me, "Hi."

"Hey, Amy," he smiled, "You okay?"

"Can't complain," I shrugged, I'm out of potions so that's a bonus. Listen, have you had Umbridge yet?"

"No," Hermione answered for them, "We don't have her until last period. Why?"

I lowered my voice and leant in closer, "It's just, I had a dream,"

"A vision?" Harry asked eagerly, "About Umbridge? What is it? What did she do?"

"Well, I think she's gonna give you detention."

"Detention?" Hermione gaped, "What? Why? Harry, what are you going to do?"

"I don't know!" Harry said loudly, "Amy? What am I going to do?"

"I think you say something about You-Know-Who," I mumble, glaring right back at Seamus when he heard me as he walked by, "I just thought I'd give you a heads up. Try and avoid it if you can. I have a bad feeling about her."

"Oh," he said dejectedly, giving me a smile, "I don't understand why I'd mention Voldemort," Ron shuddered, "Sorry, Ron. I'll keep it in mind though, Amy. Thanks."

"That's what I'm here for," I smiled, grabbing a sandwich.
