The Neglected Genius

First Contact

What came across his sight, was something Naruto was sure he was going to encounter someday, however, not this soon. 

Standing in front of him, was the Kyuubi in all its glory... snoring...

"Umm, Kyuubi-sama?" Naruto asked a little frightened at the massive beast in front of him.

"*snoooooorrreeeee*... *snoooooooorrrreee*..."

At this, Naruto couldn't help but sweat drop... he was in the presence of a beast said to level mountains and cause tsunamis with its tails, however, he never imagined said beast to snore like... well, a beast!

"Kyuubi-sama!" Naruto spoke louder, snapping the Kyuubi out of his sleep.

"What the hell do you want!?" Kyuubi scolded, unaware of who exactly he was talking to.

"Well, I wanted to know how to get out of here..." Naruto asked.

"There's no way out... Once you get stuck here, there's no way out..." Kyuubi muttered in sadness...

At this, Naruto couldn't help but feel sad for the colossal being... He could only imagine how it felt to be jailed for many years...

"I'm sorry... if I could, I would allow you to be free from this cage..." Naruto apologized honestly, something the Kyuubi took notice of.

"Hmph. Either way, how did you get here? As far as I know, I was not supposed to meet you until years later, by the time I woke up?" Kyuubi's voice deepened somehow.

"Well, this man just came out of no where, called me a demon, and threw me against a wall... I guess the hit made me pass out and forced me here." Naruto informed, feeling a faint pain in his head.

"I see... Well, for starters, this is your mindscape, the place where I reside and will continue to for years to come... In here, you're god. You control the space and time, so you can to whatever you want with it... To be quite honest, I'm tired of having my fur wet with all this dirty water." The Kyuubi complained...

At that Naruto began to contemplate the possibilities to controlling his mindscape, not knowing the Kyuubi could hear his thoughts as well, becoming intrigued at the ability the kid showed.

Then, Naruto took a seat, focusing on shaping the place. As soon as he slipped into concentration, the room began to shake, causing Kyuubi's eyes to widen. To be quite honest, he did not expect the kid's will power to be so strong as to manipulate his mindscape at this age. Hell, as far as he knew, it took Kushina's friend, Inochi, Ichigo, no... Inoichi! It took Inoichi about 15 years to manipulate his mind to this extent, and that was when they were 22 years old.

As Kyuubi stood up, he noticed the walls begin to crack and fall apart, allowing light to filter in. In a matter of seconds, the walls were reduced to shreds and his cage began to melt, slowly becoming a chain connected to a collar on his neck labeled as 'SEAL'. To Kyuubi's further shock, the place Naruto had visualized, was gorgeous! A small river connected to a giant lake flowed by, close to where he was chained, and a giant peach tree provided shade and food to the beast. It was heartwarming to say the least, for only one other person had shown the Kyuubi such kindness.

'Ji-chan' thought Kyuubi as a tear slid from his slitted right eye.

Naruto opened his eyes to see if what he visualized worked. 

"It worked!" Naruto celebrated with a bright smile, completely forgetting how he got in here in the first place.

"Kit..." The Kyuubi called Naruto

"You have done something so special, something which I am thankful for. You have shown me kindness beyond your years, and for that, I thank you." Kyuubi did the unthinkable... he bowed.

"It was nothing... Unfortunately, it's the least I can do to lessen your misery of being stuck inside me, something you did not wish for..." Naruto told the Kyuubi.

"But, is it okay if I asked you a question?" Naruto continued

"Sure. It's the least I can do for your generosity."

"What is your name?" Such a simple question, yet it meant so much to the Kyuubi.

"My name is Kurama, kid. Thank you for your kindness. For now, let me help you with your current problem." With that said, some of Kurama's chakra flew towards Naruto, striking Naruto's heart, giving Naruto a warm fuzzy feeling. Making feel unbeatable.

"That is only a tail worth of my chakra. Anymore and you would find yourself burning from existence. As you grow, I will allow you access to more tails, as a thank you for your help, however, when the time comes for you to tame my full power, you and I will fight for it." Kurama informed Naruto.

"Thank you so much, Kurama-sama. I will show you I will bring peace to this world!" Naruto explained in happiness caused by the warm fuzzy feeling left by Kurama's chakra.

'Maybe he's the one, Ji-chan. The one to unite us and bring true peace to this world.' Kurama thought.

Once Naruto vowed to Kurama to bring peace to the world, he felt himself fading from his mind.

"Don't panic. You're just waking up. Only 5 seconds have passed so you better hurry before he reaches you and kills you, kit" 

And with that, Naruto eyes snapped open to see the man from before about to crush his face in with his foot.

Thinking quickly, Naruto flashed 8 feet behind the man to gain some distance and analyze the situation.

Naruto wasn't dumb. He knew he couldn't defeat a Jounin the was he was right now. So, he had to think quick.

'Kit, call upon my chakra. It should be enough to attract someone's attention.' Kurama suggested.

'Unfortunately, I don't think I can, Kurama. If I do, it will make the village call for my head, thinking I am you. But, perhaps...' with quick thinking skills, Naruto flashed behind the man to apply pressure on the man's neck to render him unconscious, only to be slammed on the floor with a hand on his neck.

"Nice try, demon. But not good enough!" Exclaimed the man as he attempted to cast a genjustu on Naruto, only to be shocked when Naruto broke out of it instantly. 

'Don't worry about genjutsu, kid. I'll dispel them as quick as I can when you need it.' Kurama informed Naruto

'Thank you, Kurama' Naruto thought

"Then I have no choice." The man said as he took out a kunai from his pouch, only to have Naruto burn him with a snippet of Kurama's corrosive chakra.

"GAH!" The man shrieked in agony as he clutched his steaming hand.

Naruto took this chance to take ahold of the kunai, and flashed behind the man, stabbing it at the base of his head, killing the man instantly.

The moment the man fell forward, lifeless, Naruto could not help but feel sick and anxious. As the signs of a panic attack began to settle, Naruto felt a pair of arms bringing him in for a hug, by none other than Tsunade Senju.

"Baa-chan. How-"

"I felt Kyuubi's chakra. Did it try to take over?" Tsunade asked.

"No... he helped me. This man was going t-to k-kill m-"

"It's okay, Naruto... Let it all out.  It's okay to feel like this. The day you feel nothing for killing, is the day you-"

"It's the day you lose your humanity and become a monster." A deeper voice said behind them.

Turning around, they saw none other than Itachi Uchiha, Naruto's surrogate older brother.

"Do not feel ashamed, Naruto. All you did was protect yourself, otherwise, you would be the one lying lifeless on the floor, not him." Itachi informed Naruto as he approached them.

"He's right Naruto. But, keep in mind we will talk about the chakra I felt earlier." Tsunade told Naruto.

And with that, Naruto fell asleep.
