// Broken - Lund //

It's been a week since that sick day and almost everyday Ethan and I will hang out or at least spend some kind of time together.

Today we had decided to stay at my house and play hooky (aka not go to school because video games are obviously better)

We were always at my house. I don't really know why but I think it's because I was always home alone whereas Ethan's house always had someone in it.

"Are you getting bored yet?" He asked me as he stared at the tv.

"Nope" I wasn't paying attention to the game much, I was more interested in his facial expressions.

We were in my bed and I was cuddled into his side with my head on his chest. He had his arm around me but still had it connected to the controller.

"Are you staring at me?" He asked

"Yes"

"Why" he laughed

"You're very... expressive"

"Is that a good thing?" He briefly glanced down at me

"Yes, very much so"

"Okay good." He paused "I've recently noticed how much of a pain you are" he smiled wide

"A pain?!" I teasingly whined

"Yes, it's a good thing"

"A good thing?!" I whined again before detaching myself from the boy and going under my covers. "What does that even mean?" My voice was muffled

"I mean" he paused and pulled the covers over his head. We laid there holding the covers over our heads and looking at each other. "You notice the small details that nobody else would. Like you appreciate the small things"

"And that's a pain?"

"Yes, because it almost makes me feel self-conscious" he chuckled

"Oh shut it" I giggled as I flopped onto my side to get a better look at the boy under my covers

"I like your bed," he said

"That's random" I brushed it off

"I do though. It's always clean and it always smells good. Your bedroom is completely white which is nice because it makes the aesthetic of your room look really nice." He sounded like he was genuinely interested in my bed

"Mmmk" I mumbled

We sat in silence just enjoying each others presence

The love you showed was a new thing to me,

"Have you ever been awake before the sunrise?" I broke the silence

"I couple times, why?"

"Because I find it really magical. Just seeing the sky go from pitch black to a spiral of pink and orange. Usually, the sunrise is a lot more pastel than a sunset whose is also very calming. Just the aspect of seeing the day appear makes me happy" I confessed

"Okay, no more coffee for you" he joked as he moved the covers off of our bodies and he continued his game

"I'm being serious. A sunset is so expected but a sunrise is like the world saying 'good morning, have this big bright thing to illuminate your day for you'" I smiled as I sat up

"You're thinking too hard into this Ames"

"Well sorry I'm not a loser like you" I mumbled

Ethan turned his head towards me

"What was that?" A large smirk crept onto his lips

"Nothing" I quickly said

"No, no, no. I heard something" he tossed his controller onto the other side of the bed and he softly poked my side

"Ethan..." I warned but he already had a plan in mind.

His fingers attacked my sides, tickling me.

"Ethan!" I shrieked as my body jerked from side to side

He burst into laughter and straddled my legs to keep me from trashing around too hard. "What did you say?!"

"I said I'm not a loser like you!" I giggled wildly

"Sorry I couldn't hear that" he laughed

"I'm not a loser like you! Ethan, please stop!"

He did but he had the biggest smile on his lips.

"I hate you" I pouted and tried to wiggle out from underneath him but I couldn't

"No you don't" he smiled proudly as he tried to pinch my cheeks but I swatted his hands away
