Wendy's Pov
"You sure you're okay here?"
I tried to look at my cousin while I'm combing my hair in front of the mirror. Papasok na rin kasi ako ngayon at maiiwan siyang mag-isa rito.
"Yeah, I'm okay here Wendy. And I'm planning to go out naman today. I wanted to visit your restaurant as well! Tita's been so vocal about it since last night kaya I'm curious tuloy of what the place looks like and I want to try the food! God, I've been craving for it my whole life."
Napangiti ako sa sinabi niya. For sure she'll love it. Mahilig ito sa mga Filipino cuisine, I remember when wer were still young, she would always tell me that she wanted to try this and that. Lalo na nung bumisita ito noon dito, it brings a lot of memories though. Kaso, hindi pa natatayo ang restaurant namin noon kaya ngayon niya lang ito mapupuntahan.
"Alright. Just text me or what, I hope I can go out with you today but you know...school," ngayon ay nilagay ko na sa balikat ko ang bag. Humarap din ako sa kanya ng tuluyan habang naka upo ito sa aking kama.
"Don't bother! School is important and I understand naman. Just enjoy your day instead...and oh, about the guy you told me last night? I hope I'll never see him...for sure I might punch him in the face and make him realize that he's missin' the girl of his life." napangisi naman ako sa sinabi niya.
"Ewan ko sa'yo Marizah," umiling ako bago lumapit sa kanya at nagbeso. I heard her giggles before waving at me.
"Bye!" I waved back to her before finally leaving my room.
Nang makarating sa school. Agad muna akong pumunta sa locker ko. Buti na at naalala ko na may recitation kami mamaya sa isang subject. Naiwan ko pala ito rito kaya hindi rin nakapag review. Huling subject pa naman namin ito, kaya ayos lang at may sapat na oras pa naman ako para magbasa.
When I reach the hallway. I took my keys and opened my locker. Wala pang masyadong tao ngayon since maaga pa naman. Inabot ko ang libro ko pero huli na nung mahulog ang iilang letters sa sahig. Napasinghap ako. Hindi na rin naman ito bago sa akin dahil inaamin ko, some guys do attempt to court me but of course. Hindi naman ako interesado dahil nakuha na ng iba ang puso ko. I just don't want to entertain them but I couldn't stop them from sending me these cheesy love letters.
Yumuko ako at pilit na inabot ang kumalat sa sahig. Napasinhap din ako nang makita ang isang letter na halos ilang metro ang layo sa akin. I just rolled my eyes and was about to reach for it when I saw a pair of shoes in front. Sinundan ko ito ng tingin at halos mapaatras ako sa nakita. I immediately stood on my feet and tried to straighten my back lalo na nung dumukwang ito at siya na mismo ang kumuha para sa akin.
"Love letters huh?"
A playful smile was plastered on his lips. Napakurap din ako dahil sa naalala kagabe. I don't want to assume, but for sure I saw him liking my old photos years ago pero agad ding nawala! Para bang...binawi.
"Ah, hindi 'to sa 'kin!" Pagtatanggi ko pa.
I immediately snatched it from his hand and put it inside my locker. I can still feel Joshua staring at me while doing it. Pero agad akong umiwas ng tingin dahil sa kahihiyan. I thought he will leave me after that, pero nakita ko na lang ito na tumigil sa tabi ko at sumandal sa katabing locker. He was facing me sideway at halos matutop ako sa aking kinatatayuan lalo na nung pinagmasdan niya pa ako.
"Sure, you can say that." aniya na may bahid pang panunukso, mukhang hindi nakumbinsi.
Ano ba! Ang aga-aga pinagpapawisan na ako. I came here fresh, ngayon halos hindi na maipinta ang mukha dahil sa pinaparamdam niya sa akin. I don't even know why I'm nervous!
