Marahang katok sa pinto ng opisina ang nagpaangat ng tingin ko. Maya-maya ay sumilip doon si Meg.

“Excuse me, Ma’am. Hinihintay na po kayo sa board room para sa meeting nyo.”

“Alright. I’ll be there in a minute.”

Isinarado ko muna ang laptop ko saka ko kinuha ang cellphone bago ako lumabas sa opisina. Naroon na ang department heads ng kompanya at naghihintay na sakin.

“Hey, guys! How are you? I apologize for making you wait. Anyway, shall we start?”, I sat at my usual chair.

“Sure, Ma’am…” sabi ng spokesperson sa meeting. Tumayo sya sa unahan kung saan naroon ang projector screen. “It’s been a tradition in this company that every year, we used to held up an event for us to unwind after the long working days. Once a year, we have a different theme for this event.”, a picture of people in a party flashed on the screen. “This was the first event that RCF had. A big party bash wherein everyone was able enjoy the night with a glass of wine.” Another picture flashed, and another and another… “As the time goes by, our family became bigger and bigger. That’s why we came up to a plan that this year, it will be…”, a beautiful picture of a beach flashed, “a beach party.”

“Nice idea… But what is the difference of this theme from the ones we had before?”, I asked.

“There is a big difference, Ma’am. What we had before was just a party. Plain and simple. Everybody has their own world to enjoy the night. But this time, it will be a beach party with a twist. Not just drinking, dancing and exploring but with physical games and prizes. Everyone should participate. We already organized some games like beach volleyball, tag of war, mini amazing race and more. We just need your approval, Ma’am…“, seriously, I love the idea. I’ve never been in any of this company’s event before dahil nasa U.S. ako nang mga panahon na yun para mag-aral.

“Can I see the plan first?”

“Sure, Ma’am.”, she handed me a folder containing the details of the event.

The location will be in MisibisBay, Camarines Sur. And the event will be 3 weeks from now. May mga games na nakalista na rin and I’m impressed. Lahat pwedeng sumali. It will be done by team. May mga naka-assign na rin para sa photobooths and we also have photographers. Para sa foods, settled na rin. It will be a 3-day event.

“This is really impressive.”

“Thank you, Ma’am…”

“How about the transportation? Nakapag-pareserve na ba kayo ng plain tickets para sa lahat ng sasama?”

“Yes, Ma’am. May mga sasakyan na rin na maghihintay sa atin mula sa airport para maghatid papunta sa Misibis. It will only take us 42 minutes to reach the place.”
