"Never apologize for burning too brightly or collapsing into yourself every night. That is how galaxies are made."

by Tyler K. White.

My hands were in tight balls as I glared at the door of the Nurse's office knowing very well who was on the other side. My wolf was raging inside of me; snapping her teeth in an aggressive manner, ears were flat on her head, and her fur was bristling. She was demanding flesh and blood. The thick straps wrapped tightly around my wrists and ankles as I sat up in the bed in the corner. I jerked the restraints roughly and snarled with ferocity.

The stench of Alex Greene and Helen Lakewood was enraging my wolf further more. They were so close. She snarled with the ferocity to rival a full-grown adult wolf and it resonated very clearly and loudly throughout the room. Outside, the talking ceased as I tugged violently on my restraints.

Inside the Nurse's office was Nurse Roswell. She was an aging woman with more patience then all the Pack Mothers' combined. The silver-haired she-wolf simply continued clicking away on her computer as she wasn't trapped with an enraged she-wolf with a craving of destruction. She simply clicked her tongue and shook her head every once in a while.

My wolf growled as she began to pace. I simply glared at the door as if I could obliterate the damn thing. The door clicked and I narrowed my eyes as my wolf perked her ears and halted her pacing. It was my older brother Caleb—thankfully it wasn't Daniel because Daniel would've been right beside me in the same situation I was in.

Caleb looked torn between fury and concern. He strolled over to me as I stared at him with unnaturally golden wolf eyes—a rare family trait that only touches a wolf every few decades though no one knows why. He pulls up a chair and sits beside me on my right. He looks unsure whether to tell me something and it irritates me.

"You might as well tell me," I unintentionally snap at him, "I'm in these stupid restraints!"

Caleb doesn't look fazed by my outburst because he knows I'm partly reacting off the flaming fury of my wolf, "Alex and Helen are being suspended from school until you decide to drop out." Caleb informed me patiently and for a brief moment I take a second to recognize that my brother would be a very good and patient father. "That's if you still wish to continue after today." He adds with a hopeful tone.

I huff and lean back unsure what to comment. Did I still want to continue school? Was it worth after what transpired? Not only did the all my pack mates witness Alex reject me but they witnessed the brutal torture of a male wolf completing his rejection. I gritted my teeth as humiliation flared in my body.

My wolf released an unrestrained growl that my brother clearly heard but he wisely reframed from commenting.

What about my friends'? I stared at my restrained hands and unclenched them slowly. My fingers were slowly regaining color. I wanted to spend time with them before I left. I had to train not only myself but my pup. You could just continue your feeble education at home like the previous two weeks, if that's what you want but as for your friends...they have already voiced their support. They wouldn't look down on you if you decided to drop out of school, My wolf voiced in a surprisingly patient tone.

But did I want to leave and leave such an imprint on my pack mates? Would they remember Skye Bellemore as the brightest wolf in the pack or the she-wolf who was destroyed soul and mind by her mate in the front of the whole student wolf population? Would that be my legacy?

Your legacy is to build your future not give a fuck what your pack mates think, Skye! My wolf snapped all signs of patience gone within the blink of an eye, What you need to focus on is you and only you, do you understand? Do you not understand that you are putting everyone in front of your own well-being? What is holding you back now? She hisses angrily.
