Chapter 37 : Angel's Cry

It's been a week since that incident. The class is really over at start na ng summer vacation. Nakalabas na rin ng ospital si Ash at magaling na ang tahi niya sa likod. Syempre, magaling ang nurse niya e.

Also, Dad and Mom are already home. Kaya stay nalang muna ako sa bahay. Mabuti nga at nakalabas na ng ospital si Ash bago nakauwi sina Dad. Nagkaroon pa ako ng chance na bantayan at alagaan ang girlfriend ko.

One time nga, sumugod pa sa bahay si Prof. Elise. Kakauwi lang ni Ash that time.

"Oh, andito ka na naman?"

Nakairap pa ito at dire-diretsong pumasok ng bahay. Akmang papasok ito ng kwarto ni Ash pero naharangan kaagad ni Vera.

"Off limits ka sa kwarto ni Ate."

Kung mataray ang dating ni Prof. Elise, mas lalong mataray naman ang mukha ni Vera. Syempre, Vera never backs down. Kelan pa ba nagpatalo ang babaeng ito.

"And why is that?"

"Dahil wala ka namang papel sa buhay niya. Huwag mo na kasing ipagpilitan, Prof. Elise. Magkaroon ka naman ng kahit kaunting respeto sa sarili mo."

Okay. That was a real blow kaming from Vera. Masakit pero totoo naman. Harsh pero undeniable.

"How dare you!"

Bago paman lumapat ang palad nito sa mukha ni Vera, inunahan na agad ito ng kaibigan ko. Dalawang sampal ang ibinigay nito kay Prof. Elise, to be exact.

"Don't dare lay your hand on me. I am always the one to do that."

Gaganti pa sana si Prof. Elise nang lumabas sa kwarto si Ash. She immediately went beside me and enveloped her arms around me.

"Don't make me mad, Elise. You know me. If you're trying to mess things up, then don't. I don't want to lose my patience, especially if that concerns you. Please Elise, ako na nakikiusap sayo. Just stop here. I only want peace for both of us."

May bahid ng galit ngunit nababakas din ang pakiusap sa mukha ni Ash. Prof. Elise glared at me and then directed her gaze at Ash.

"No, Ash. I won't give you the peace that you want. You know me. Hindi ako nag-antay ng mahabang taon for nothing. I'll get you, no matter what."

Then she left after that. Nagkatinginan naman kami ni Vera pagkaalis ng propesora. Ash kissed me on the forehead and whispered words to my ears.

"I love you, Lerise."

A day after that, saka dumating sina Dad. Of course, team bahay ako. Hindi ako basta makaalis ng bahay kasi summer naman. Dad would notice if I'll frequently go out without any valid reason.

It was Tuesday night at nasa kwarto ako nang may kumatok sa pinto.

"Sheiia, can I come in?"

I can't be mistaken. Alam kong si Ate yung nasa labas. Hindi ko alam pero kinabahan ako. Hindi kasi ako sanay na kumakatok si Ate bago pumasok ng kwarto ko.

"Yes Ate. Pasok ka."

Nasa couch ako nun at nanonood ng movie na If Only. Ilang beses ko na itong napanood pero hindi pa rin ako nagsasawa. I still cry myself to death everytime na napapanood ko ito. The story is so amazing.

"Hey. That was my favorite movie after Lance died."

Umupo ito sa couch katabi ko. Nasa television screen din ang mga mata niya katulad ko.
