It has been a week since James started to court me. Lahat ng imbitasyon nito ay tinanggihan ko at lahat ng binibigay nito ay napupunta kay Vera.
Prof. has been silent about that but I always assure her that nothing will change between us. Kahit naman kasi tahimik ito, alam kong may nararamdaman pa rin itong insekyuridad.
Of course, andun pa rin ang selosan lalo na sa side niya pero nawowork out naman naming dalawa.
Today's Thursday and I am currently at the mall together with Vera. First monthsary na namin ni Prof bukas at namimili kami ni Vera ng regalo. I feel so excited since this will be my first monthsary.
We're at the men's section trying to find a gift for my girlfriend. Galing kami kanina sa women's section pero wala akong napiling bagay para kay Prof. Yung mga andun kasi sa women's kadalasan super girly kaya crossed out na agad ang mga ito.
I was about to turn around nang may mahagip akong bracelet sa accessories section. Leather band iyon at silver infinity ang pinaka center ng bracelet. I know that infinity's now a cliche, but there's something in that bracelet that made me smile. I hurriedly picked up the bracelet at binayaran kaagad iyon sa cashier.
As usual, sa Starbucks ulit kami dumiretso ni Vera. It's past five pm at dito agad kami sa mall dumiretso after class.
Vera and I were having the time of our lives nang may lumapit sa amin. Damn, dito na naman ulit kami nagkita ni Jessica.
"Hey bitches!"
Napataas kilay si Vera sa narinig. Mukhang hindi nito nagustuhan ang pagtawag ni Jessica sa amin.
"Oh, you're the one with the fake Hermes bag, right? Well, did you bring a real one today?" Of course, Vera won't let herself be the loser.
"No worries. It's not a Hermes bag anymore. Anyways, it's fancy seeing both of you again. I guess, ito ang simula ng madalas natin na pagkikita. Bye girls!"
And she waved her hand as if we're very close friends. Hindi ko alam pero eto na naman ang kakaibang kaba dito sa dibdib ko. Kada kinakabahan ako ay may nangyayaring masama.
"Ugly head. Who's that bitch ba, Sheiia?" Tila iritang irita si Vera pagkaalis ni Jessica.
I heaved out a sigh and sipped my coffee. "That's Jessica. My former bestfriend."
"Really? Yung panget na yun? Uh, okay. What happened to both of you?"
Hindi ko alam kung oras na ba para sabihin ko kay Vera ang lahat. But then again, naisip kong si Vera na ang karamay ko simula't sapul na pumasok ako ng university kaya walang dahilan para hindi ako magtiwala sa kanya.

It's dinner time and we're almost done eating nang marinig ko si Dad na tinawag ang pangalan ko. I immediately chinned up to meet Dad's gaze.
"Yes, Dad?"
He cleared his throat and drank his juice before he answered. "I've crossed path with one your university officials earlier at the restaurant where my client meeting was held..."
Medyo kinabahan ako sa pabitin na sinabi ni Dad.
Buking na ba kami ni Prof?
Huwag naman sana, please..
Napahigpit ang hawak ko sa aking kubyertos and I saw how Mom's face stiffened as well. Nanimbang rin siguro siya sa puwedeng sabihin ni Dad.
Kuya Gid looks like he's also waiting for what Dad will say. Si Ate Keirah, tahimik lang na kumakain at walang reaksyon mababakas sa mukha.
