sill•age
noun
the degree to which a perfume's fragrance lingers in the air when worn

When I first saw this word, it reminded me of sewage. It just looks like it'd be pronounced similarly. In reality, that is not the case at all. Still not a great sounding word, to be honest. Doesn't quite bring to mind its meaning, does it?
I really like that there's a word for this, though. It's one of those things that I've always imagined is just something we're meant to experience and not describe concisely. I think this could be a great word to bring up in a more romantic story. I've noticed that liking your partner's sent is a common topic in romances. But it's always kind of cliche, the whole stealing your boyfriend's hoodie so you can smell him on it. If approached with the fact that most have never heard of this word, it could be a refreshing new way to bring up that kind of thing.
