Chapter 3: Entrance Exam

It's 11:53 in the evening and yet I'm wide awake. In normal circumstances, I should be asleep as early as 9:30 pm and yet right now it's late but I'm still up and the reason is simply because the orientation starts at 12 midnight.

"You are now officially enrolled as a student. Welcome to the Lenin Academy, Ella Park." Yana beamed.

Lenin Academy huh? Something seems strange about this school. I don't know why but I can feel it somehow.  Whatever it is, I just hope that I made the right choice to stay here.

"Oh by the way here's your schedule. Feel free to check it out." she said with a sly smile while handing the schedule card.

Wala naman akong problema sa schedule ng classes ko although isang particular sched ang nakakuha ng atensyon ko.

"Hindi ba typographical error yung 12 am for orientation?" I raised my brow while I asked that question.

"Nah uh. Yan talaga ang oras ng orientation dito. You might want to grab a sleep right now—as you can see mamaya na ang orientation." she pointed at my schedule card which I took a glimpse at and she's actually right.

Who the hell came up with this nonsense idea? 12 am for orientation? Really? Tss.

"Ibig sabihin ba nito kung hindi ako nakapagenroll ngayon ay magiging late enrollee ako?" umiling siya sa tanong ko.

"Kung nagkataong hindi ka nakapagenroll ngayon ay hindi ka na matatanggap dito at siguradong palalayasin ka sa kuwartong tinutuluya  mo ngayon. 6 pm pa lang naman pwede ka pang matulog since 12 am pa naman ang orientation. Isa pa hapon pa naman the next day ang first class mo kaya puwede ka pa uling magpahinga after ng orientation." she answered nonchalantly

I mentally cursed. Ganito ba talaga sa school na ito? This is definitely odd.

And after that rubbish talk, hinatid niya ko dito sa kuwarto ko pero hindi nako nakatulog pa.

*knocks*

"Ella, let's go now hindi tayo pwedeng malate!" I heard Yana's voice. She was yelling tss.

I lazily walked over and opened the door. Nagpatangay na lang ako sa kaniya. What's the use in arguing? Eh wala naman akong alam sa lugar na to. Ayoko siyang kasama pero mas ayoko namang maligaw dito tsk.
And so after a few minutes of walking, we stopped at the center of quadrangle.

Maliwanag dito dahil nakabukas ang mga ilaw unlike sa mga dinaanan namin kanina na sobrang dilim dahil nakapatay ang mga ilaw sa mga poste.

There are only about fifty to seventy persons in here. Maunti siya kaysa sa inaasahan ko.

"Tayo lang ba talaga ang estudyante dito?" I curiously asked.

"No, actually there are about five hundred students in here. Seniors are exempted in the orientation. Well sa ngayon sampu lang naman ang senior students dito so around four hundred ninety students should be present right now but students here are actually hard to deal with." she hissed.

"Too many rule breakers?" I grinned.

"Definitely." She sighed.

Now this is getting interesting. A school for rule breakers huh? Looks like I don't need to adjust myself to fit in. I am a certified rule breaker after all.
