So whiteness is the thing to aspire to. but what do those who already have the gift of it reach for? Those who have the privilege and ability, who do they wish to be?
The simple answer is, nothing more than what they are.
Everything they strive for is already within their grasp, they just choose not to see it. Choose not to see the advantage they have for being white, and don't even consider the possiblilty of white privilege as a thing. Outside of themselves however, through the little things like clutching their bags tighter when a minority walks by, or through bigger things such as being openly dehumanizing to a member outside of their race, the ideal WASP aspires to be surrounded by people like them.
