"Crap!" You exclaimed, looking at the message you had just gotten on your phone.

"What?" Mark asked, before grunting as he lifted Chica through the open window.

"Ryan and Matt backed out of the house idea."

"No way!" Mark cried, setting Chica down slowly and gently. Then he quickly ran over and swiped your phone. "Agh. Those.. Those.."

"Mark, ya have some shite cards on ya.." Sean interjected, looking at the hand of cards he had swapped for.

"Jack, dude, I'm not playing go fish anymore."

"Oh. Okay. Fine then. That's cool. It's all good, bro." Jack stood up and walked into the bathroom, shutting the door loudly.

"Mature as always." Barry remarked under his breath.

"So what now?" You asked Mark, who's brow was furrowed. "Do you have anyone else you know who would want to split a house?"

"I do~" Lauryn sang from across the room. "He's an old friend of mine. We used to go to the same dermatologist." She smiled as if that wasn't an unusual comment.

"His name is Ethan. He's an amazing video editor, who lives at his Dad's. Oh, and he has pretty hair." She fluffed up her own hair. "Maybe I could dye my hair.. Follow his trend.."

"Woah.. Keep an eye on your girl, Barry. You might have some competition." Mark smirked at the grump who was leaning against the wall.

"Nah. She does this a lot. Bruce Lee, Steven Yuen, every member of BTS, EXO, and SHINee.. I'm not exactly concerned."

"Don't forget Jesus from The Walking Dead. Those eyes, that side-stare, oof~... He still ain't Glenn though." Lauryn suddenly looked sad and sat down, rolling into the fetal position.

You blinked a few times before turning back to Mark. Mark shrugged in response and sat down.

"I have been needing an editor for a while.. Matt was gonna be my go-to, but since he's not interested.. I mean, I guess it's worth looking into, isn't it?"

"Great! I'll call him!" Lauryn quickly snatched her phone from Barry and scampered off to the single bedroom the apartment contained.

"What about Bob, or Wade, or Tyler?" You asked your boyfriend, who looked up and scratched his scruffy chin.

"Bob wouldn't, law school and all that. Wade probably never wants to see this place ever again. Tyler.. Huh. Tyler might be into that idea." Chica walked up to Mark and set her face on his arm. She looked up at him with sad eyes.

"Hey Chica! Hey girl!" Mark pet her face frantically, cooing in baby talk to the dog.

"That dog is going to ruin your sex life." Barry noted, flatly.

You put on your best mocking voice. "Uh, I'm waiting until marriage~" You responded in a high-pitched, nasally voice.

"Oh, that reminds me.." Mark stood up. He looked towards the bathroom where Sean was probably sulking about Mark quitting mid-game. His eyes shifted to Barry, who understood what to do. He quietly stepped toward the bathroom and locked the door from the outside. He gave Mark a thumbs up.

"Now that we have a second to ourselves without any, um, interruptions.. I have some things I'd like to say to you, (Y/n)."

"You.. You make me the most confident man out there. You and I have been through some crazy stuff. During which, you, uh, you were my motivation to keep fighting, so to speak." Mark laughed awkwardly.

"(Y/n).. You are the reason I woke up in the mornings, the reason I did what I did. And uhum, even though we could've died, you are what, you know, made me look forward to whatever was next to come in life."

Mark gave a long, deep breath. He subtly pulled something out of his pocket and fumbled with it a bit in his closed palm.

"I'm rambling again, I know. So.. I guess the shorter way for me to say this is-" Mark bent down, and rested his weight on one knee. He moved his fingers to reveal a simple, silver ring.

"Will you marry me?"
