You won't want anything fancy
Would prefer that I just keep this real
And yet there's no doubt about it
This love that we share's the real deal.
I don't mean to craze and annoy you
Or turn an un-listening ear
I sometimes ride on your coat tails
You're hard to keep up with my dear.
Bend me and shape me, remake me
Breath into me some of your life
I plod along in your slip stream
It's hard to keep up with you wife.
I must leave you disappointed
I don't get what you see in me.
But I'm sure we're better together
And hope that you'll always agree.
You won't want this to be slushy
You're just not that kind of a girl
But from the very time I first met you
I've just lived my life in a whirl.
