You set an alarm
You do not sleep
Then when you do
The thing goes off.
You jump from bed
You're bleary eyed
You're packed
But what have you forgot?
The taxi comes
You load the bags
Wife's not ready
Never is.
Get to airport
Find the desk
Scan the passport
Check your bags.
Security
You know the drill
Stuff in trays
Remove your belt
Safely through
With no alarms
Repack your bag
Is it all there?
Hungry now
Just want to eat
But wife has seen the duty free
So shop.
Breakfast at last
A bacon roll
Not that hot
But coffee OK.
Boarding soon
Where is wife?
She travels cool
Gets me stressed.
'Go to gate'
Where is she?
She reappears
Time to go.
Should be time
I need the loo
I need the loo
She needs Chanel
Go to gate
Another wait
The flights delayed
We wait some more.
Start to board
We stay sitting
Seats are booked
Why stand in queue?
Now we're on
A little late
Settle down
It's time to fly.
We're off.
