Was I really doing this? 

  Hurting a boy I don't even know just to earn twenty- five bucks? Cool it, Petra. I need that money. But.. I couldn't shake the memory of his brilliant green eyes. Broken ones that held secrets. 

  "Petra, are you going to Aiden's party?" my dad called from downstairs and I looked at myself in the mirror. Was I?

  "Yeah, I guess. That's why I'm getting ready." I answered and he paused. "Be back by 10."

  I looked at my reflection again and caught sight of the necklace that Lukas gave to me a few years ago..

  Before I left, I grabbed it.

I arrived at The Lighthouse with Reuben by my side. Axel and Olivia were impatiently waiting even though I wasn't that late. 

  "Hey Reuben." Olivia patted my dog and I saw Axel grin. "The dude with the dog."

  "Shut up." Olivia laughed and smacked his arm. They were really cute as a couple. 

  "Ready to go?" Olivia asked and I nodded. Together, all of us piled into Axel's car. I nervously swallowed my anxiety. I hated parties and this was actually my first party.
